Slightly old, but for some reason it came up when I went to sci-fi wire so...

Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, told SCI FI Wire that he definitely plans to revisit the "Buffyverse" in a future, unspecified TV project. "I think it's realistic," Whedon said in an interview while promoting his upcoming SF movie, Serenity. "I like my chances. But it is absolutely still too amorphous for me to make any kind of announcement about it. I'm out there trying, and there's other people trying, to put it together. But until something falls in place, I really can't say."

Whedon is especially keen on doing a movie centering on the vampire character of Spike (James Marsters). "Let's say it's a good jumping-off point," he said. As for Marsters' reported comments that he is growing too old to play the eternally youthful former bloodsucker, Whedon said: "Well, we're working. We're trying. I know. ... James is in very good shape. Keep working out, James."

Let's hope it happens...I'd like to see the Spike/Faith partnership that was mooted until Eliza got the Tru Calling gig.

I'd love a "Faith the Vampire Slayer" on show.

Or possibly a return of Angel and Faith? That would indeed spice things up again.

I think Angel has outlived his interest as a character - I'd much rather see another character take over. :)

That's a very cruel thing to say. I know you don't mean it that way, but what you're saying is that only eight years of his life were worthwhile. He doesn't die; he still is around. If you say he's not interesting anymore, you imply that people in general get uninteresting after a while. I find that a bit disturbing and pretty sad too. Moreover, if Angel were to realise this, that he no longer takes up the spotlight, but has to settle for a more subserviant role, that could make up some excellent drama too; how does one cope with having been on the top already.

Well I mean personally I found the character much more 'watchable' in Season 1 of Buffy and imho has gotten less and less interesting through the Angel seasons. His character went through a change over that period of time that made me not like it as much.

I hope so. I'd love to see a Faith, Ilyria or Spike movie. Hell, I wouldn't mind if it was on Andrew.
