From The WB (http://www.thewb.com):
Sam (Jared Padalecki) has a premonition in which a man is killed, but the murder is made to look like a suicide. Sam convinces Dean (Jensen Ackles) that they must investigate the case, but the two are puzzled when they fail to find anything that indicates that the death was supernatural in nature. That is, until they find out that Max (Brendan Fletcher), the reclusive son of the first victim, has been using his recently acquired power of telekinesis to kill the family members that once abused him. Sam also discovers Max's mother was killed by the same fiery demon that took his own mom.
Someone's telling me that this episode is really graphic so far, lol.
I can't wait to watch it.

HEY!!! This is just a repost of what I put up on TV.com and if you haven't watched the episode yet then jsut wait to read it. ^_^
I'll confess. When Dean got shot I was surprised since scenes like those are usually dragged out so you know that they will find someway around him actually dying, but Max was like "Okay" and BAM! I was trying to figure out what happened cause I wasn't about to believe that Dean got shot...but there was blood all over the wall and he was dead on the floor and I suppose...I was too caught up in the moment to think "oh yeah...Sam has visions. Right..." >.< Not my best moment.
Anyway, I thought this was a very good episode, but I'm refusing to believe that Sam has telekinetic powers because that's too cliche for me. So...for the time being, I'm choosing to believe there is another explanation for Sam's "new ability." Since Dean said that paranormal creatures are drawn to psychic stuff like that ( Said something like that in Asylum ) I'm convincing myself that Sam and Max weren't actually the ones moving things with their minds. I'm thinking that something else was feeding on their thoughts and moving things for them. *shrugs* I don't think it's that far-fetched and it's not as over played as "Lookie! I can move things with my mind. " ^_^
So...anyone else concerned with how aggressive Dean is becoming? Seems like the more intense things become for Sam, the less hesitant Dean becomes about pulling the trigger on someONE rather than someTHING. He was prepared kill Roy in "Faith" and here, he was a little too eager to put a bullet in Max. I think he knows something about what's going on with Sammy too, or at the very least, he's suspecting something and keeping it to himself. If he doesn't slow down and admit that this stuff IS freaking him out, this I-can-take-on-anything attitude of his is going to land him in a lot more trouble, despite his intentions to keep his baby brother out of harm's way.

I liked the episode... I love how Sam is growing more into this thing, becomming a deeper of a character. I loved the Father thing that made me laugh so hard. I agree i think Dean might know whats going on with Sam and doesn't want to come out with it... Maybe..

Well I can definitely say that that was some of the most graphic stuff I've seen on the WB. Buffy/Angel could get bloody, but it was more sort of cartoonish somehow.
It is interesting that this "curse" with the Winchesters would seem to be larger than just their family. And Sam's "powers" apparently started right when their dad went missing, right? C'mon Sam and Deans' dad! Just spill it! Tell us what you know...

OK, if I mention how hot I thought the boys dressed as priests were or how sexy I thought Dean was when he was cleaning his guns, will I be kicked off this forum?
Anyway, I honestly didn't have the thought that Dean's "death" was a vision. Usually it would be played out a lot more than it was, and I didn't think that it was a vision. OK, I'm stupid. My thought was "Oh my God!" right before my jaw unhinged and dropped to the floor.
Then, it was revealed that it was just a vision of Sam's, so I picked up my jaw, put it back in place and thought I usually do better than that.
(Of course, you guys do know I'm speaking figuratively about my jaw, right? I'm asking that because after seeing that episode, anything's possible!)
prydain, you were asking on tv.com when Supernatural is going to get scary and disturbing. I think you got your answer! Wow!
I watched the murder of the stepmother through my fingers. Same as the murder of the uncle.
More than redeemed itself for the awfulness that was last week!

If they kick you off, they'll have to kick me off too. I really liked the part where he was cleaning his guns. My mom was watching it with me and she said "Jesus Christ! How many does he have!?" The way he was cleaning them felt so routine, he didn't even have to focus on what he was doing. It was like reflex or something. I just thought it was cool. ^_^
When my Dad cleans his guns and I try to talk to him he always hushes me and says he's busy. I guess Dean's better at multitasking, since he could carry on a conversation while he does his work. *sigh* embarrassing fan girl moment. I know I should be ashamed but...whatever.

Sam's hair was hilarious when he was dressed as the priest. They both looked weird though, lol.
I'm waiting until I watch the episode a second time before I post all my thoughts on it.

That's why they put the "parental discretion is advised" thing before the episode started. I must say that I am extremely happy that they cut down the beginning crap and just put in stuff about Mary and Sam's visions instead of all the other crap they've been saying. A new beginning was nice.
John didn't go missing, he left on purpose. Granted, he obviously knows something, but apparently we're not supposed to know.

Yep...and they even used a really awesome background for the parental discretion screen too, lol. (Just sayin...I hate the plain back with white text.)
Anyone else hoping the rest of the season will be slapped with parental advisories? I'm always up for serious subject matter and people getting mauled by windows. :D

They're gonna have to kick us all off cause Kat, I totally agree with you on the hot factor. I was watching it through my mirror while sitting at my desk cause I was finishing up typing my essay that was due today and I look up to see that and the first thing I thought was "Damn! They look hot." and then it was "Oh my God, what the hell did Sammy do to his hair?" I was talking to my friend's mom online while watching and doing my essay and I told her to quickly turn on channel four and she was all "Oh my God, those boys are fine!" At least we know the boys are safe with their fanbase of rabid fan girls.
Don't worry about your comment, I tend to put comments like that in all my posts. In fact, Prydain and I had a conversation earlier about how hot Dean is and how he deserved to get laid. Well, I talked about how hot Dean was and Prydain talked about how he needed to screw some hot succubus. :D
Anyhoo...All in all I thought this episode was very good. A little boring at times, but not bad. The blood on the dropping of the window and while shooting Dean in the head was overplayed but typical Hollywood.

I'm not too concerned. I don't think he was actually going to shoot Max, I think he just pulled the gun out out of reflex. On of those haha-I've-got-a-gun-so-now-you-can't-hurt-me things. Dean doesn't seem to be getting any more agressive that's how he's always been. It's just now it's more apparent because we're getting to know the characters a little more and they're getting deeper into the supernatural stuff now that Daddy-pants is off on his own adventure.
I agree with you that Dean needs to admit that his little brother is started to freak him right the hell out. You can tell he wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. Does that make any sense? Hope so. Dean's a complex character. Like most t.v./movie "bad boys" he's just a "big fluffy puppy with bad teeth" (Stole that from an Angel episode. I love that episode. Season 1 Episode 3 I believe. Where Spike and Oz go to L.A. Dean really has nice teeth but it sounds better that way.) Dean just needs to chill for a second-let his guard down. I doubt that is going to happen any time soon, but we can hope.
:dancing: Am I the only one that finds that terribly amusing? I can't stop laughing at that.

OK I just watched it again.
I'm so happy that this episode was so good. Not just because it was...well, you know - good, but because it almost made up for Route 666. BTW, you guys are ever gonna hear the end of that one. That episode was so bad it seriously pissed me off.
Anyhoo...this was a very X-Filish episode. Very dark and grim, and only about two funny lines throughout the whole thing, but several things were amusing, including the priest outfits.
I don't know about you guys, but I didn't really consider Max the villain of the episode. I felt sorry for him and like Sam mentioned, who knows what's going on in his head after he's endured all that. I'm glad his father and uncle died but I'm also happy his stepmother was saved, because I love Beth Broderick, lol. A knife in the eye is not something I want to happen to any character she plays. (Oh, Beth was also in LOST this week - the day after this episode aired.)
One of my favorite parts is still Dean getting shot. But that WAS a lot of blood. No way there's that much blood in someone's skull. Unless their brain isl liquid blood. Oh. It would've been cool if there'd been brain parts on the wall too. If not "cool", more realistic at least.
Sam's facial expressions are getting worse. His vision face is ridiculous.
I really wanna know why Sam is just developing his powers. I've read theories that the demon that killed their mother gave it to him (and Max) but they just recently starting developing. Hmm.

That's not true. When someone is shot in the head with a simple handgun there is rarely brain or blood for that matter. Usually the bullet gets lodged in the brain so there is no exit wound...no where for the blood and brain matter to splatter. Normally, the victim will have a little blood coming out of the entry wound and possibly some blood will come out of their mouth. Shooting someone in the head really isn't a very messy thing.

Well you know what? It should be on TV.
And wouldn't it depend on the gun? Rifles and stuff would be more powerful than a handheld gun.
And I meant more realistic in the sense of the show - if they're going to have a gallon of blood on the wall there should be brain, too.
:D

Oh, I forgot - I just remembered that when I was ten my cousin (he was grown, married, with teen kids) used a gun to kill himself. He shot himself in the head and there was indeed blood and even a little brain hanging out. (If I'm not mistaken no one sleeps in that room anymore....)
I just remembered that because my dad mentioned his wife a few minutes ago.

That's why I said with a handgun. The reason your cousin had brain matter was because he probably shot himself at close range. Yeah, when you put the gun right up to your head it's gonna have a little bit. From a few feet away...not so much. Believe me, I know.

You know? Interesting.
Plus I think he shot himself with a bigger gun, I think. But it looked like Dean was pretty close to that gun. Closer than people are usually killed.
But you have to admit, if there hadn't been blood it wouldn't have been quite as effective.
BTW, I wish they showed the results of Max shooting himself. He was like an inch from the gun.

Yeah I do. A few of my classmates were shot and killed over the summer; that was horrible. (A more accurate portrayal of someone being shot in the head is in X2: X-Men United. When the police officer shoots Wolverine in the head, many people thought that was completely fake when in fact, that is the one of the most accurate discriptions I have seen.)
I agree that if they hadn't put the blood in there it wouldn't have been as effective. But that is because the normal American has been brainwashed my too many movies into believing that that's what happens when you shoot someone in the head. It's all about gore and blood and brains that when you see the real thing it's disappointing and a little unbelievable that that's all there is to it.

I'm really really sorry about your classmates. That's really sad.
And this show called "The Inside" was really accurate in the pilot, when someone gets shot in the head. No exit wound. But it was from like 20 feet away though.
I've come to expect gory things in movies and TV even when I know in real life stuff isn't all that gory.

Yeah, it happened three? four? days before school started again. Something like that. Let me tell you, the first week of school was uber depressing.
My school is like a magnet for bad crap to happen to its students. Since I've started there 2 people have been paralyzed, 3 have died in car accidents (one just this last Monday), 20something have been critically injured in accidents, 1 drown, 6 were stabbed, 3 were shot to death, 2 were shot and lived, one died of diabetes, and dozens have lost siblings/parents. And I've only been going there for a year and a half. It's only a three year school so it only has 10, 11, and 12 in it. The freshman building is attached to it. Not counting the freshmen there are over 3,000 students in the school and counting the freshmen there are give or take 4,300 students. So it's no wonder we lose a few. Those mentioned above are just the ones I remember hearing/reading about.
There were numerous deaths when my sister went there and when my brother went there. They are six and three years older than me so we've all gone there during different years. Yeah, BD is not the best when it comes to keeping its students alive. My sister actually lost one of her close friends to diabetes while they were in their senior year. He didn't know he had it. He left on Wednesday, ended up in the hospital on Thursday and his family pulled the plug the following Sunday because he was brain dead.
Anyhoo...enough of the depressing death talk. I think the blood added a little "ew" factor to the episode and got people to gasp.
I think the same thing about the blood about the step mom. Since the knife blade sliced through her head and stayed there the blood vessels would have been blocked and no blood would have been able to get out. (Huh. I did learn something in anatomy...go figure)

Wow. Thats...worthy of an episode of Supernatural. Nobody dies at my school. Well, a few months before I transferred two friends were cleaning their guns to go hunting and one went off in this guys hands and killed his best friend. Even though the police and both sets of parents believed him and there was no investigation, the guy lost almost all of his friends (he was the football team captain, so he had lots). It was sad. I sat at his lunch table with one of the only people who still talked to him.
Oh. One girl got ran over by a semi but walked away with just a broken arm though. But it must be terrifying to turn and see a 12-ton truck coming at you.

OMG nothing like that has ever happened in my school, and I've been going there for 6 years!!
I thought this ep was so good, one of my favourites! The storyline was great, and I was actually shocked when Dean was 'Shot' I didn’t realise it was a vision either!
I personally love the whole Sam developing powers storyline, I don’t think it cliché at all! I mean they had to add more depth to these characters or eventually people would start complaining that the episodes were too alike, The two of them travelling from place to place killing things. But by adding this cool storyline they can only make it better!!
So what do you think is up with the demon? Like did it want to take Sam and Max, remember when Sam's mom first went into the nursery, there was a man, who she thought was her husband, looking down at Sam!

Possibly. My friend and I think it's haunted by evil sub-human Martians...but that was the result of way too much coffee, corn fields, and a road trip through Indiana back roads at 2 in the morning. We got bored. And all that stuff isn't counting the handful of students that have committed suicide over the last year and a half. Yeah...we're forbidden to talk about them. Which I find totally pointless, but whatever. The deans have been taking down "Juggalos Unite-R.I.P. J.P." posters for a while now. J. P. was the lastest one. He wrote a note, stuck it under his desk in his third period, went home, and shot himself in the head. I figured since they did it on purpose they weren't really plagued with the "Curse of BD past" as my psych teacher calls it.
The girl that just died this last week, LaTisha's, funeral is actually tomorrow. There's another funeral I have to go to. I seem to be going to a lot of them lately. Her friend, the girl that was driving, is still in the ICU. She has a fractured skull and had some internal bleeding.
Sadly enough, they were t-boned by a bus while driving to school. The bus hit LaTisha's side and she died instantly. I'm telling' ya, my classmates and I are screwed.
Edited to fix details of LaTisha and Christina's car accident.

The episode was cool. Definitly getting a little darker as it digs into more of what's happened to their family. Sam's powers are getting weird. So addictive this show is. :)
And Kierens, wow, yeah sounds like your school has a history of 'bad luck'. And I thought my major at college hit into bad luck my first year there. Well, it did a little, but not that much. I got the least of the luck when my house almost burnt down. *L* That was nothing next to some of the others.
We had one guy end up dropping out because he was diagnosed with pretty serious stomach cancer (at the age of 26) --I still don't know what ever happened with him. If he survived or if he'd dead or what. Nice guy too, one of the few people who came right out and talked to me, made me feel apart of things in class. Then I heard about this other guy who had to have surgery on his back and that he might not walk again if he even survived, because of some condition he had. And then at the close of that first year in the major, this guy, sweet guy, who'd just graduated in May and was still working at the campus was killed when his motorcycle was hit by someone who ran a red light. Wasn't a good year for our department.
