This kind of reminds of the time the board was hacked, except wouldn't they do that at the server, and wouldn't that mean this board would go down too?

Just relax everyone, the database got corrupted.

You don't need to contact me - when I'm online, I will see that the board is down. I also get an email everytime someone goes to the page with the error.

I can't get on either and I had a proper panic attack earlier when I tried to get on here to see what was going on and I got a message saying the database was been sorted out.

I honestly don't know. A couple of newly registered people were deleted, and I went right out the window with them! My world is totally askew right now. I'm sick to my stomach.

And now I'm like, o screw it, I'll just reregister under a different name, and it won't even let me do that! Seriosly, there is way too much drama in my life.

Look, the database got corrupt. In order to fix that, the damaged rows have to be deleted if they can't be repaired. There's nothing that can be done about that.

I didn't say there WAS anything that could be done, and I wasn't trying to say anything about you or anything like that if it came out that way...I was just saying that if anything happened to this website and my account I'd be upset, that's all. I figured it was because of the server or something anyway.

That wasn't directed specifically at you - but people are acting like I deleted their accounts on purpose. All threads and posts still exist, and say their usernames with them. So it's not major except for the 5 minutes it's going to take people to register again.


BEG - Usually what happens is a process (adding or changing data in the database where all the board info is kept) gets interrupted, so then the server can't read the information properly and it causes an error. Which has to be fixed before things work again. Sometimes the data can be repaired so it can be read, but this time some lines of user data couldn't be repaired, so in order to fix the database you have to remove those bits.

This is not usually how hacking goes, so though it could have been a hacker, I think our host was having hardware problems. The time that AD was down was when they were fixing the hardware problem (that I told them about because it was affecting me being able to repair our database).
