From The WB (http://www.thewb.com):
While investigating a mysterious death in Chicago, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) run into Meg (guest star Nicki Aycox), who is thrilled to see Sam again. The brothers soon discover Meg is behind the murders and attempt to catch her. Unfortunately, Meg is one step ahead of them and unleashes shadow spirits on the brothers to ambush them. Sam and Dean realize the trap isn't for them, but for their father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
The episode was written by Eric Kripke and directed by Kim Manners.

This was definitely one of the better episodes of SN. After all they went through to find Daddy-pants, they have to leave him behind. We finally got a little emotion from Dean...yay. It's about time that happened. He finally showed he loves his brother and wants him around. Granted, we all knew that, but Sammy didn't. Though how he didn't I don't know. That boy is the densest smart person I have ever seen. I was totally whispering at my t.v. for Dean to hug Sammy. (I would have been yelling but my four year old niece was-is-asleep about two feet away from me. Kinda didn't want to wake her up. I'm still holding out for a Brothers Dean hug. That will make me a happy, happy person. *sighs* Until then, March 16 is marked in my passport (what we called our student planners in Jr. High and I still do), as well as March 1 :D. I had to explain that to a ton of people today.
*Just for the record, I just copied and pasted this from my post on the Jensen Ackles forum on TWoP*

Yeah, it was pretty good. Nice that they all got to bond and kiss and make up and all that jazz. I was hoping for some kind of significant answers about what exactly this demon thing is they're chasing. But at least they know now that can work through human (or maybe not?) intermediaries, like Meg.
And...I guess I see why the boys will to continue work separately from Dad. It's like Spider-Man dilemma I guess? Dad's thinkin "The ones you love will always be the ones who pay". They'll be too distracted all working together? Sitting ducks together? Is that the logic? Or, they can make more progress separately? Hmm. I was kinda nodding off towards the end, maybe I was missing the point...

I thought this was a great episode! I'm not sure what I think about John, though. Something about him is strange. I can't put my finger on him. It might be because we really don't know him. This is the longest that he's been shown on this show.
Loved the emotional outbursts from Dean. The one after meeting Meg and the one in the motel room. I'm also not sure why Sam didn't think Dean loved him. I agree, Kieren. Sammy's one of the densest smart people I have seen!

Kinda...strange but at the same time, dealing with this episode.
I didn't watch the episode last night because I went to bed early (I was mega tired) and the last thought I had before I drifted off was "I wonder what's goin' on on Supernatural tonight"...and naturally I had a freakishly odd dream in which I dreamed up the whole episode! It was pretty wild.
But anyhoo, I think I'll have to wait another day to watch it because I'm going to bed early again...I have been exhausted all week.
Someone told me it was one of the very best episodes ever, so I'm anxious to see it.

I really liked this episode, I was so surprised by the twist at the end, I was not expecting it. Cuz when she feel out the window, I was think "Hey I thought she was sticking around, I read that on AD!!" then I was thinking, "Oh well other people didn't like her(I did) Maybe they decided to change it" and convinced myself she was dead, but it did make it more of a surprise! lol

Well, I guess that's a good thing. You want a villain to be hatable. Or do you just mean she's super annoying? lol
I can't decide...
I actually wish their mom and Sam's girl would come back...

How? As ghosts or visions or spirits? Or something else?

I wouldn't want them to be like...resurrected or anything. That would be a little corny, I think. lol

It was just an emotional outburst, lol.
I can't imagine a graceful way to bring them back. I just think this show has a slightly weird dynamic, with the lack of females. I know the dudes are helping out lots of women all the time....

I'd rather have Laila from Faith back lol

I'd also like to see Kathleen from "The Benders" back again. She was just cool.
