I was reminded a little while ago of a cancelled UPN series that aired in the late '90's, but I can't remember the title for the life of me.

It was about a detective who suddenly develops enhanced, hyperactive senses...much like a sighted "Daredevil". He had this long-haired sidekick who helped him control the power. Ring a bell with anyone?

Was it called "The Sentinel" by any chance?
See details on imDb HERE (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115351/)
I don't remember it being shown in the UK but it sounds like the show you're describing...it's amazing what you can find out with a bit of judicious Googling and a very slow day at work ;)

Ahh, that's the one. Much obliged, Mr. Points. :D

I tried watching that show in syndication once. I wasn't feelin' it.

Eh, the show wasn't so bad...but it did start wearing a little thin after the first season. Still, I'd have rather watched that than something like say...Jake 2.0.

Still, I couldn't remember the title for the Sentinel show, and when I have something right on the fringes of my mind like that, it bothers me for the rest of the day, lol. I needed to post and ask about it...or I would be yelling "F__!!! What is the name of that (expletive deleted) show??!!" at innapropriate moments during the day. :p

Thanks again Pointy, for saving me a trip to jail. :p

Well the only UPN genre/sci-fi shows I've ever liked have been Invisible Man, All Souls, Haunted, and the 2002 remake of The Twilight Zone (which I have on DVD). I'm usually scared to watch anything on UPN, especially genre shows, because they VERY rarely last and All Souls and Jake 2.0 were both the lowest rated dramas in their seasons. Probably because their only promotion was onair during other UPN shows...stupid network.

Yeah, UPN doesn't have too good a track record in regards to series longevity, but to be fair I think FOX is worse when it comes to this sort of thing.

The shows you mentioned were good, although I stayed away from "All Souls" because I felt it might be a rip off of the Dutch series "The Kingdom". Please set me straight if I was wrong in that assumption. And wasn't ABC running a similar type of show around the same time?

I liked "Seven Days", though. What'd you think of it?

7 Days was pretty good. Haven't watched it in a long time. I LOVE All Souls and it's a lot different from Kingdom Hospital, which was ABC's version of The Kingdom. All Souls had some untapped potential though but used lots of weird techniques. And they never tapped into the deep mythology that was obviously there and which would've made it better. However, ABC's version of the Kingdom is great too and I love it. But I don't All Souls was trying to rip off of it. I think they were just trying to make ER supernatural. lol

 Uggh.... you were not just confusing the Dutch with the German, please tell me it isn't so!!! ;)

Uhh, ok...the show is NOT Dutch? Lol.

I always thought that show was Dutch. I own that show on VHS.

Lars Von Trier is German?

Lol...well my bad. Allow me then to amend my statement to: "The shows you mentioned were good, although I stayed away from "All Souls" because I felt it might be a rip off of the FOREIGN series "The Kingdom".

Better? :p

Much. Now, I only need to convince you of that the man you call Lars Von Trier is in fact not a respectable filmmaker, but a cruel and sadistic murderer.

Lol...alrighty then, I know nothing about this man being a murderer.

Pray, ellucidate. (sp?)

Sorry, with all this new smiley stuff recently incorporated, I just couldn't resist. :p:p

Was sorry to hear about that donkey though. I was always under the impression it was against the law to harm an animal for the sake of making a movie. Oh well. The more I learn, the less I know......
