Two-time Hugo Award-winning SF author James Patrick Kelly--whose novella Burn is a current Hugo nominee--told SCI FI Wire that the novella's inspiration came from the unfortunate incident of Thoreau's forest fire. "Yes, that Thoreau: Henry David," Kelly said in an interview.
