Hail the naughty and powerful Samhain! Hail, I say! :p
Enjoy the day, peeps. Enjoy the candy corn, the caramel apples, the chocolatey Halloween goodness, the outlandish costumes....but especially enjoy the SCARES! It ain't Halloween if you aren't scaring the shyte out of someone, or on the receiving end of a good jolt. So make it a good one! :D
Allow me to start the day off with a few choice scary links. Watch in the dark...if you dare........

I wish I was doing something good for Halloween. I didn't even think about it and didn't prepare ANYTHING and it just snuck up on me...oh well. Always next year, I suppose.

I know I'm late, as I was away in Prague, where they don't seem to celebrate Halloween at all, so I kinda missed out.
I trust everybody enjoyed themselves though?

I'm late... cause well... we don't actually do Halloween... it's an America-only holiday, isn't it?

Well, it's getting more popular in the UK...I'd like to think it's because of The Simpsons but I suspect that it may be more commercially driven ;)

Well wouldn't The Simpsons be commercial? :D

There was just an article in the Irish Emigrant (newspaper here in NY) this week about Halloween and how horrible it is that Europeans are now celebrating something so American. Meanwhile Halloween came from Europe but whatever...I'll see if I can find an online version.

Halloween was created by the ancient Celts, lol. True, we greatly changed it, but still.

Like you did with the traditional Dutch Saint Nicholas feast.... which you turned into Santa... ugh... can't you be a little more original? Just stick to Thanksgiving ;)

*gasp* I hate Thanksgiving. So pointless. Christmas DOMINATES, followed by Halloween. :D

Hmmm... Didn't it used to be "Yule" - a pagan, midwinter knees-up to help get us poor cold northern europeans through the long winter - before it got hijacked by the Christians who conveniently turned it into a religious celebration?
Or am I just dreaming that and America actually invented everything in the entire world? :D
(And please accept that last sentence as the gentle ribbing it is meant to be. Absolutely no offence is meant or intended.)
