Episode 5.11: Lockdown fka Closer

10/26 - Lex and Jonathan are now neck to neck in the state senate election. Lex is quite unpleased by it. His campaign manager suggests finding something to use against Jonathan. Lex is ordered by police to evacuate the mansion as there has been a bomb threat. But he soon finds out that it's not exactly true when the police officers point their guns at him. It doesn't take too long for the scene to get worse and guns to be fired. Lex makes his way to a panic room without knowing that it wouldn't function properly thanks to what the "officers" did to it. If Lex wants to come out of this situation alive, he'll need to give them something he has been hiding for a while. the ship that landed during the last meteor shower. Eventually, Sheriff Adams and a deputy come to the mansion and look for Lex but will be more surprised by other people she finds on the scene. Lana somehow gets caught in all of this. Lex and Lana are at the mercy of a deranged Smallville deputy who plans to keep them captive until Lex reveals the location of the Kryptonian spaceship. Meanwhile, the Kents can't see eye-to-eye on campaign
financing.

The two police officers who witnessed the spaceship land in the meteor shower take Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) hostage and threaten to kill them unless Lex reveals where he hid the spaceship. While escaping to the panic room in the mansion, Lex takes a bullet meant for Lana. Fearing Lex may bleed to death, Lana asks him to tell the officers the secret location, but he confesses the ship has been missing for weeks. Meanwhile, Clark (Tom Welling) discovers Lana has been researching the spaceship with Lex and fears she is close to discovering his secret. Allison Mack, John Glover, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider also star.

Steven S. DeKnight wrote the episode directed by Peter Ellis.

I didn't like this episode that much. It was too centered around the Lex/Lana/Clark love triangle. I find that annoying.
