Sweet ep.

The Doctor had a kid?

Rose
They keep trying to split us up, but they never will.

Doctor
Never say never.

The next one looks like a classic.

One of the very first Doctor's companions was his grandaughter, Susan, so I'm guessing the kid is a given :)

As for the eppy quote...talk about foreshadowing...I really hope that Rose doesn't have to die.

This whole second series seems to have been about loss and loneliness, doesn't it?

My first impression was, "what's Pointy talking about?", then I opened up my Doctor Who folder scanned the ep titles, and yeah, even when it's not a central theme it's a sub-theme. And Rose leaves at the end of the season. Hmmm... It's like they knew.

Is Susan still alive?

I liked this eppy, a bit cheesy at the end, and not as clever as last weeks, but i liked it.

I have a another theory regarding Roses future in the AOG/Doomsday thread BUT thats speculation and probably VERY wrong.

As far as I know, she is still alive (unless of course she was a Time Lord and not adopted, in which case she may have perished in the Time War) but she did leave her grandfather in the 60s, so may well have been subject to the ravages of time(unless of course...Time Lord...etc :))

I also liked this ep...it wasn't the best of the series but then again (as with Joss Whedon shows and Terry Pratchett books), an average ep of Who is streets ahead of most other stuff :)

The story had echoes of that superb SF short story about the kid with all the psionic powers (the title and author of which I can't remember but The Simpsons parodied it brilliantly in Treehouse of Horror II :)) who had everyone in fear of him if the world wasn't exactly the way he wanted.

Edit - the story I'm thinking of is "It's a Good Life" by Jerome Bixby, which was also adapted as a Twilight Zone story - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It's_a_Good_Life
