This guy is so good, I just thought he deserved a mention.

Murray Gold (born 1969, Portsmouth, England) is a British composer for stage, film, and television.

Gold's credits date back to 1996, and some of his better-known work include music for the TV series Queer as Folk and Clocking Off and the 2000 film, Beautiful Creatures. Since 2005, he has served as musical director for the new series of Doctor Who for the BBC. In this capacity, he created a new arrangement of the show's theme (originally composed by Ron Grainer) and also composes most of the show's incidental music.

Gold's arrangement of the Doctor Who theme was controversial among some fans due to his decision to leave out the "middle eight" portion of the theme, though he later reinstated it for a rearrangement of the theme introduced in the series' 2005 Christmas episode and subsequently used in the 2006 series of the programme.

In 2006 he will be recording a new arrangement of the Blue Peter theme music, to be used on the show from September onwards.

I have noticed the Music in the show is really good, not like for CD's that I would buy, but for the show. The music always seems to fit the moment. There is this one song that is brilliant thought, it's always used perfectly, mostly when characters realise some huge plot detail, It's that "ohh" music, lol that doesn't describe it great, I'll have to track down a moment where it's used. It's used right through out the series though.

I loved the background music in Army of Ghosts. I like this year's version of the theme better than last year's even. It really rocks me when they go into it.

The background music in the two part final was fantastic, Army of ghosts was really good, but I think my favourite music moment has to be the entire last segment from Doomsday, the music and everything just makes it perfect!

This guy he seems to be able to adapt different musical styles to different moods of different eps, and he'll always find some catchy little riff no matter which style he's playing in.
