I know we're not paying much attention to Rotten Tomatoes, heh. But this movie is getting savaged for the most part.

I'm going to see it either Friday or Saturday with my friend Ruthie, she thinks it looks "awesome". :)
I think it looks fun but not as good as his other movies.

OK, well here's more proof that critics are pretty much on the retarded side. This movie was not bad AT ALL. I just got back from seeing it, and I was expecting to be disappointed but I found it to be a rather enjoyable movie. It's definitely the most unique I've seen all year.
The acting was really good. The weakest actress might have been the narf lady, but that could have only seemed that way because she doesn't show a wide range of emotions, but still, she's good.
The writing was also good, and while I could tell it was an M. Night film, it seemed to differ quite a bit from his earlier movies. The world he created is really interesting.
One issue most people will probably have is how easily and quickly everyone in the apartment complex accepts all this stuff and believes that this lady is a "narf" from another world. Lots of people will say that's realistic and critics have criticized the movie for that...but in the movie it gives you reason to dismiss all this stuff...it's meant to happen, these people were chosen to be where they are, so it's more of a relief that they accept it immediately, because who really wants to watch them fighting it the whole way?
Also, the movie is not scary at all, but unlike what critics are saying, it's CLEARLY obvious it's not trying to be, except for a few choice scenes where it IS creepy. But mostly, the movie is just trying to be a fairy tale fantasy, and it does that well.
One thing annoyed me about the directing: there were WAY too many scenes where the camera avoids showing faces and we see the bottom halfs of people walking around...grr that's annoying, it seems to serve no real purpose at all. But then the GOOD part about directing was the subtlety and thoughtfulness that M Night's movies usually have. I really like that about his movies, I don't know why.
Anyway, a fun movie, recommended. Ignore the critics. If you like M. Night's other movies you'll probably like this.
(BTW I keep calling him M Night cuz I don't like spelling out his last name, haha)
