Discussion of 1.08 "Bugs" - 11/8/05 (WB-US)

[Vilandra]

After a construction worker is killed by insects burrowing into his brain, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate the town's history and find that the new housing development is being built on sacred Indian land. The Indians put a curse on the land after their reservation had been ravished and destroyed. Sam and Dean must find a way to survive and kill the deadly swarm of bees, locusts, spiders and beetles.

The episode was written by Rachel Nave & Bill Coakley and directed by Kim Manners.

This episode comes on in about an hour for me...I'll watch it but it looks pretty bad.

It was actually a good episode - much better than I thought it was going to be.

Only thing was that it was sort of weird at the end, that they just amazingly waited until Dawn and survived...

Yeah, it was ok, lots of funny parts, but the plot was kinda weak.

Yeah, I have to agree with the waiting till dawn part. There's no way those few scenes could have added up to about eight hours. But overall I think it was a good episode, I liked the comedy. The old Indian and the Real Estate Agents thinking Sam and Dean were a couple really cracked me up. >.<

Haha yeah the couple thing was really funny.

In all honesty, if they hadn't made this a light-hearted episode and tried to frighten us on the level of the pilot, this episode would have been unbearable.

I also thought it was funny when Dean and Sam are in the house and Dean goes "That is a great shower" or something like that lol

I stopped watching it when roaches started popping out of the ground. I couldn't do it... I am like really afraid of roaches, Our apartment used to be infested with them When i was little and it just kinda really damaged me for life so i couldn't watch it lol

This episode creeped me out cause i dont like bugs lol. I thought it was a good episode just wasnt a huge fan on seeing all those bugs in that guys mouth. I actually thought that the brothers were not gonna stop them and i thought that they would die.

I was just concerned how fast it became day when i swear when they got to the house it was dark.

Yeah this episode was good but not great, I loved the 'Them as a couple' joke, that was really funny. And it was a good episode to get to learn more about the characters of Dean and Sam but the plot was kinda weak, I mean the other insects killed the people in like a minuet, but the bugs at the end didn't do anything, then dawn came really fast!
