The TARDIS arrives in the 19th century, and soon the Doctor has met a familiar face from history. Queen Victoria is on her way to Balmoral, but the visit isn't going exactly to plan. A werewolf is on the loose, and the Doctor may not be able to protect everybody…

Wow! What a great episode this one was. David in a Scottish accent! lol
"We are not amused." LMAO
:)
Who but Rose would try to have a joke on with Queen Victoria like that? :he: I like the way she was respectful yet secretly sassy. Very Rose. And...the naked girl...gotta kick out of that one too.
Those fighting monks made me scratch my head a little, but it was all in fun.
Never expected Queen Vicky's reaction at the end.

Me either - and I couldn't figure out why she would knight them first?

I found this one a tad boring, apart from the beginning. I always wanted David to have his true accent in the show so was pretty chuffed when he got a chance to do it.

Why didn't they let him?

I've no idea, I mean Chris had his nice Northern accent so to make it a bit further up wouldn't have been a problem.
I found this quote from an article which i'm pretty sure is posted here entitled 'Tennant talks new who' as its from Scifiwire earlier this month. So seeing as it fits into this part i'll just post the particular section.
But one character trait that was decided from the beginning was that Tennant would not use his own Scots accent as the Doctor. As Davies explained, "There's a line that got cut from the Christmas special, with Mickey saying that he [the Doctor] picked up Rose's accent; when you're very close to somebody, you pick up their accent, and lo and behold, out of the entire special, we didn't shoot that scene."

The Dr has always had an english accent so maybe they just didn't want to have the Dr suddenly speak in a scots brogue.
But it was nice to hear Tennants real accent, and i loved this eppy especially Rose trying to do the accent!
the best bit "I am not amused!"
Pauline Collins did a good job of queen Victoria and it was a nice hint at Torchwood too.

If he can change his appearance I don't see the problem in him changing an accent. After all there are different English accents ;)

The seventh doctor, Sylvester McCoy, was born in Dunoon in Scotland and has a distinct brogue, mixed perhaps with a hint of Irish (his perents were, I believe, from Dublin). This accent was not disguised during his time on the show.

I loved this episode.
I feel that The Queens reaction at the end to Knight him was more to do with se doesn't like the idea of owing someone something.
I thought this was a great episode and Rose and the Doc were great.
It was also great seeing Shirley Valentine as The Queen:)

Yes but it wasn't too obvious, but there was a hint, i know he is scottish and that his real name isn't Sylvester Macoy!

I'm watching season 2 for the first time (I'm only recently a Dr Who fan after watching the last couple of episodes of this season) and I love this episode.
It was great how at the beginning the Dr thought nothing of being a hundred years out of his original destination. It was funny how they kept referring to Rose as being naked lol
I also liked the ending were Dr and Rose were theorising that the royal family were actually werewolves. Maybe that's why the Queen banished them, because the Dr was suspiscious of the Queen's cut on her wrist.
