10/26 - Sam and Dean visit the Cornwall Inn, a creepy old mansion turned run-down, failing hotel. They meet the owner, Susan, and her daughter Tyler, who are packing to move after they sell the hotel. Tyler is playing with a little girl named Margaret. The brothers notice strange items around the hotel, including an urn with a familiar pattern, dolls with their heads backwards and Susan's mother, who looks vacant and beyond terrified. 11/08 - Sam forces Dean to make a costly promise and then buries himself in alcohol - much to his big brother's amusement.
10/31 - Dean talks with Sherwin, the old bellman, about the old hotel and Sherwin confesses that the place has always been spooky, even before it was a hotel. They come upon a picture of Susan's mother with her Creole nanny from when she was a child, and the nanny is wearing a hoodoo necklace, leading them to believe the frail old woman is behind the many deaths happening at the hotel recently.

Sam forces Dean to make a costly promise and then buries himself in alcohol - much to his big brother's amusement.

When I read "buries himself in alcohol" I thought "omigod! something bad is gonna happen to Sam!" but then I saw "much to his big brother's amusement" so I guess that this will be a light, comedic moment. Whew!

I wonder, though, if the "costly promise" has something to do with the big secret that John told Dean or whether it's just something else.
