Hope this episode is better than Croatoan...

The best thing about this episode was the preview for next week! lol
Anyone else feel it was a little anticlimactic? I didn't care as much about the secret this week as I did at the end of the last episode. :(

Haven't seen it yet, but I knew it would be anticlimatic...the effect would've been much better had they revealed it last episode...no matter what the secret is people are gonna feel cheated when they have to wait like a month to find it out.
So was this episode better or worse than Croatoan as a whole?

As a whole, better :)

OK so I just watched the first ten minutes (I have to go to work soon) to find out the secret. Um, that does not qualify as a "secret about Sam". That is some bullshit. UGHHH! How annoying.

Yeah, this was pretty weak, IMO. I'm not really impressed with how the writers are rolling out the giant arc of this series. I did like that psychic chick from Peoria though. She had an actual personality. A little ditzy maybe, but funny.
The preview for next week, with the haunted hotel looks potentially good...

I liked the episode. That whole "secret about Sam thing" was way overrated though. Just a big hype to keep the fans excited...
The thing that made me laugh the most was that Dean talked about going to Amsterdam lol. The coffeeshops really dont serve coffee there...

This episode was definitely better than "Croatoan", although I didn't realize until it was nearly over that there was no "monster" this week. And as for the show's mythology, I actually posted a theory at TV.com a LONG time ago that they were probably leading up to a huge battle between good and evil. Which sounds cool, yeah, but the biggest problem with that is that the show does not feel "epic" in any sort of way and the only way they could do a satisfying battle between good and evil would have it feel "epic".
I liked Ava and her personality but I felt that in several scenes the actress was trying too hard...and her whole speech about "I'm not on crazy, I'm not on drugs..." was definitely not done right and it came off as really lame - that entire scene, actually.
And the preview for next week was AWESOME, goldenboy, not just "promising", lol. That was the best preview ever done for this show. The hotel looks cool.

I thought this was a good INFORMATIVE show. Just to throw an idea out there does anyone else think that the yellow eyed demon is pulling a switcheroo?
It seems the hunters from the Roadhouse are out to hunt these 1983 born kids who are supposed to be the coming army. But which army evil soldiers or his 'gifted' opponents? I thought of if when the Roadhouse owner (drawing a total blank on her name) was talking to Dean on the phone and she said a lot of them are smart enough to figure it out.
With the hunters killing 'potential demons to be' the head demon wouldn't have much problem taking over everything if there were no gifted individuals to stop him.
What do you all think?

Hey, I'm a skeptic. I feel like this show burns you sometimes. But, yeah, it did actually get me excited for next week.

Divide and conquer does seem like a good way to go..

See now, I really liked this episode a lot. I guess maybe I knew that this 'secret' wasn't gonna be some long big thing. I mean John leaned in for maybe 30 seconds to tell Dean what he told him. So it's gonna be something simple, but that weighs on Dean like a ton of bricks. And that's what it was. "Protect him, and if you can't, you'll have to kill him." I mean, your father, telling you you might be forced to kill your own brother, that's a pretty big deal. That's gonna eat at your soul, and especially with someone like Dean, not something you're itching to share with said brother.
As for the rest of the ep, I thought it was cool, Ava was fun, I really enjoyed her character, and I actually am curious and conserned to know what happened to her at the end of that ep.
As for the war is coming, I don't know that it needs to feel 'epic'. Especially in an age where it seems so much of war is tactics, and covert. Perhaps this war isn't like the opening scene of Lord of the Rings, so much as it's under ground, like the mafia or something. *L*
Personally I love the way it's going. I think Supernatural is a lot better at giving, at least for me, satisfying pieces of information, without giving away too much all at once, keeping the mystery up and building, while not making one feel like a dog chasing it's tail till it gets so dizzy and confused it walks into the sliding glass door. *L* Like some other shows *Lost* do.

Aww, I really liked the scene in the car at the end. It was so brotherly lol
I liked the episode. I felt sorry for Dean when he was all tied up and Sam had to defend himself, but Dean was cute when he was untied and after seeing Sam's cuts and stuff. He was the typical protective older brother!
