Summary:

After receiving a frantic call from Sam (Jared Padalecki), who has been missing for over a week, Dean (Jensen Ackles) races to his brother's side. He finds Sam covered in blood, but unable to remember anything that happened.

Upon investigation, the brothers are horrified to discover a tape that shows Sam killing another hunter in cold blood, causing Sam to believe his evil side is finally taking over. Cathryn Humphris wrote the episode directed by J. Miller Tobin.

Another hunter...please please let it be Gordon!

I wonder if it's really Sam's "evil" side or if it will turn out he was controlled by something else. And this whole thing with him having an evil side reminds me SOO much of Point Pleasant. ;)

Writing this as I watch this time....

So I love the harsh cuts between shots in the beginning section.

Sam is really starting to annoy me - all he does is whine and lash out at Dean. So he's blacking out...and apparently killed someone without anyone else knowing about it. And they're seriously following a blood trail...and no one else has seen any of it?

I like this whole piecing the story together thing though. Sort of Memento like or something.

LMAO that dude from Edgement that's on the 4400 lol - "What am I, speaking Urdu?" :D

Oh so he killed a hunter, and a badass one at that from the look of all those guns lol

Video...convenient...

I think it's just that Sam is such an emotional wuss...such a woman that I don't like him. Captain Morality.

Go he's so melodramatic! Instead of trying to find a solution to the problem, "Oh Dean please kill me! You must!" Blah blah blah Pistol whip him Dean! Pistol whip him! Aw...too bad. Shit! Sam did it!

"My son snuck out last night and went to a...a Justin Timberlake concert..."

Oh please make Sam stay evil! Please!

Okay, so Sam is clearly possessed by something that wants Dean to kill Sam...

Ah - point for me ;) Damn, I wanted Sam evil.

Demon...blah blah blah...

Oh so now Sam and Dean are on the run from other hunters as well as the Fee Bees? Cool.

And back to Sam being all woman-y.

What the hell is that preview for next week? Oh lord...

Vil, you are too "manly" for your own good. What's wrong with morals, eh?

Anyway, I really loved this episode, I'm fairly confident it would be in the top five. It was really well written and acted by everyone, with the weakest leak being Jared. Again.

I loved the weird editing throughout this episode, and I hope they use it again. The beginning was interesting. I'm confused about Sam though...was it the demon the entire time that was pretending to be Sam forgetting? If not, why couldn't Sam remember? I mean, he did at the end, and Meg was alert while she was possessed.

Alona Tal was SMOKIN' HOT in this episode. DAY-UM! For a minute I thought Sam was going to ravage her body. I felt awkward with my mom sitting there because I thought Sam was going to try to rape her...if he had, would that make the demon a lesbian?

And did anyone else think evil Sam was fun to watch? And that Jared's acting as Evil Sam was *much* better than Good Sam? Weird...

I was trying to remember for the entire episode where I had seen that guy from the gas station...The 4400 never crossed my mind. He looked a lot different, but I remembered his voice. He was funny though.

I oddly enjoyed seeing Dean get beat up by Evil Sam towards the end. I cringed like crazy when the thumb went through his bullet wound. Ugh. We need an entire episode dedicated to Dean being tortured. Pyshically. Mentally. If it's by Eliza Dushku, sexually.

And the promo for next week was SOOO awesome, lol. Looks like a comedy episode. YAY!

Amen, brother :D

This "I'm gonna turn evil" thing seems braindead to me. Evil is about the choices you make, free will. If Sam's gonna morph into some mindless demonic creature or whatever, fine, but...

Why would it take the boys so long to suspect demonic influence/possession? With the blackouts and missing time? Bah.

Yeah, it was good to see Sam with some attitude.

Agree, and agree.

Hell yeah, good Sam = boring and whiney and too much like a girl. Evil Sam gave Jared a chance to show he can actually act. Its no secret i'm mostly drawn to the bad guys. So yeah I hoped we would get to see at least another episode of evil Sam.

Goldenboy - I don't know why it took them so long to realise he was being posessed, I clicked right away as most viewers probably did. But the whole 'you might have to kill your brother thing' might make him think that Sam might not be as good as he thinks even though Dean claimed to believe Sammy could not do that. I bet part of him thought it might be possible.

I had actually thought that the Demon was taunting Dean, wanting him to kill Sam because of his 'Destiny' or whatever. So that whatever threat Sam carries would be wiped out.

I didn't click with the recap at the beginning with that girl.

I didn't get to see the promo....whats it about?

Once again, having morals and wanting to do the right thing does not make someone "like a girl".

Goldenboy, I do agree with the "evil" thing, lots of shows and movies lately seem to be doing something similar, with characters having an "evil" side that could take over. I disagree with the way they do it. I *do* believe some people are born with more of a likeliness to become evil than others, but everyone has it in them, and it's a decision. It would be wiser for them to just say there's a greater potential in Sam and that there are events that will take place that will push him there, or something...

Noooo!!!!!!!!!!! This episode sank to an all-time low in ratings, with 2.83 million viewers. Boo.

Did I say 'he was 'a girl' because he has morals :p. I find him girly because he moans and at times I find the character bland. A tad Clark like even.

Of course I myself have morals but in my tv and movies I always go for the bad guy. In reality I prefer the good guy though. I guess on tv the bad guy is more interesting. Lex Luthor for instance, and I would take Angelus over Angel any day. And don't even get me started on Evil Lawyer Boy.

It's not because he has morals it's because he takes no action to change things, he just accepts it - "Oh I need to be killed". Grow a set and try to save yourself.

I see your point but he appears to think that he's going to turn evil no matter what...

And just because we are told something is our destiny why should we accept it? Especially if this means we turn evil.

Just realised that might sound harsh, thats not directed at you Pry, just my thoughts on Sam.

I don't think anyone *should* accept it, I'm just saying that may be why Sam is acting like that. :)

No I agree, with you when you say thats why he might be acting like that.

With all he has been through with his father and Dean would you not think he would believe he could beat it and change what has been said?

Kinda like 'well this is what they said I might do but screw them i'm going to do all I can not to do it' Which chances are further down the line he will no doubt have an opportunity to do something 'bad' but the 'good' in him will win out. Any takers on that bet?

This was a good episode. Good writing, usual acting, decent special effects.
This weeks hotel theme was fish and bobbers, the prop guys must be having a ball coming up with new room decors every week, lol.
So lets see the cops are after Dean, the FBI is after both of them, the yellow eyed demon is after Sam and now hunters are after both of them. I don't like the way this is going for the boys but we viewers might be in for a hell of a ride.
About the only 'friends' they have right now is the vampire clan they let go at the beginning of the season.

That's true, and Sam does seem to have this tendancy to just be acting like he's doomed to it and is really not commiting to trying to be good the way Dean's commiting to keeping Sam good.

I mean, look at Point Pleasant, Christina's told flat out she's the daughter of the devil, but that she had a good human mother. And that was enough for her to fight it with all she had. That is until all those whiney morons who claimed to care about her turned on her. And then I wanted her to just kill them all. *L* Was it bad that I wanted her and Boyd to win? *L* (anyway, no more tangent, just pointing out)

So Jo knew Sam was possessed within a minute of seeing him and then she changed her mind or was it just wishful thinking on her part? I was surprised as well that Dean didn't think possession straight away, but Sam has been acting a little strange and all 'please kill me if I go bad'

I liked this episode. It was very interesting to watch.
