View Full Version : The 'Three' Run

Does anyone put any stock in 'things coming in three's?'
For me in the past death has usually come in threes, my gran, my uncle and a family friend.
Today there was Anna Nicole Smith and Ian Richardson (who weirdly enough was in Strange, a show that I was just talking about in another thread).
Is it a load of rubbish, pure coincidence or am I just being morbid again?
I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out that I am a normal(ish) fully contributing member of society and i'm not a weirdo.

Hmm. I think people naturally pick up on patterns, and look for them everywhere...like...that evil face in the wood paneling...sneering at me...mocking me...taunting me...damn you evil face! lol.
But yeah it does feel like that sometimes. I hear people playing the "3's" game with dead celebrities, fer sure...

I've never noticed the face in the wood paneling but now that you have said it my mind will no doubt focus on it automatically.
I didn't mean the 3 game just for dead celebrities, just that i've known death to go in threes for non celebs as well.
I guess it goes with luck as well. Today I got let go from my job (the same job I planned on handing in my notice today so its a yey, the boss just beat me to it), a friend of mine got a new job and the same friend also got engaged today.
So is it just the fact that as you say 'people see patterns' and then start to look at them when putting things logically? Is it just another trick of the wonderful thing known as the human brain?

I'm a very firm believer in things coming in three's, yeah. I could quote you countless events from my past that prove the theory, but I won't bore you with them. In our family, we've only ever thought about bad events though.
Like Rose, I'm just waiting for celeb #3 to drop off their perch...... :)

I'm sad about Ian Richardson, but i'm kinda glad that Hogfather was his last real work because he did such a wonderful job as Death that its a great high to die on.
I only hope the thing I do before I die is great...or sexy;)
