I got part of this as a book on tape. I dunno. It seemed like a talented high school kid's take on LOTR or something. Not really my thing...

I think this story sounds cool. Haven't read any of the books. I'd watch a movie adaptation, TV series, mini-series, whatever they decide to do.
I'll bet you $100 if it's a miniseries OR TV series it'll air on ABC. ;)

Doesn't King have some kind of a deal with ABC? Seems like almost all the telemovies, miniseries have been on ABC...
I liked Storm of the Century, think that was my fave.

It seems that JJ is going with the Dark Tower stuff at the expense of not directing the next Trek film, according to the Deamwatch website - http://www.dwscifi.com/articles/show/157 - although he will be involved as a producer of the Trek project.
