Is Avid free DV easier then Windows Movie Maker?

No, not really. I think it's easier to mark the segments you want, but overall it's much easier to put together a movie with WMM. It was very frustrating to work with actually, and I had to watch the tutorials several times to figure out how to use it (which I normally never watch).

Plus to import the one Smallville episode it took at least 24 hours because Avid doesn't like avi files and has to convert everything to Quicktime. It also wouldn't recognize the audio track from the episode. I think I tried converting it to Quicktime first and then importing but it still took a couple hours.
