Anything spooky, horrific, supernatural, or just so weird that you'd like to share it with us. Maybe you've seen the ghost of your deceased cat, or you've been playing chess with someone telling you his or her moves through a Oujhi-bord (sp). Then again, maybe you've simply been abducted by aliens and they probed you in all kinds of strange (family-friendly) places.

PS: This IS a family-friendly board, right? (Couldn't find it in the FAQ.)

This weird thing happened when I was at my parent's friend's for his mother's funeral. The door to the spare room got locked from the inside (it's one of those locks you turn on the knob). They tried everything to get the door open, cause the deceased's sisters' luggage was in there and they had to leave for the airport. They were banging on it and trying credit cards etc.

Then one of the family came over and said, "Have you trying praying to Aunt Genevieve?" (the deceased). And we're all like rolling our eyes and they sort of said okay to humor the person. So they go like "If you can hear us we really need to get into this room and if you can help please do". And at that moment, the door like flies open. The one guy had his hand on the doorknob but was not pushing on it.

They then had a locksmith come, and she said that something about the way the door was constructed that it couldn't have just opened like that.

Spooky.

Wow, that really does sound spooky ;) Personally, I have yet to witness anything supernatural.

I saw my mother in my room one time. I guess that doesn't really sound very supernatural, until you consider that she'd been dead for 5 years at the time. It rather shook me up, but I can't really say that it frightened me - she never hurt me when she was alive, so why would she do so once she'd died?

Also, the week she died, I got stopped in the street by a "gypsy" selling "lucky white heather" (yeah, right!). I was too slow to escape her predatory pinning and so, while I was digging in my pocket for some change, she gave me the usual old spiel about having good luck and long life. Then she looked at me in a really peculiar way and told me - not asked me, mind - told me that I'd just lost somebody very close to me. Shocked, I agreed, but didn't say who. Then she went on to tell me that "mum is able to walk and talk now and doesn't want you to be sad, because it was time for her to move on". That really was spooky, as mum had been virtually paralysed with a wasting disease that had also prevented her from being able to speak for 3 years before she died.

I'd always kinda believed, but I think that encounter was the clincher for me.

Wow, that sounds like something straight from a story... except it's not :o That counts as a definite witness of something alright!

I've been in a tomb in Edinburgh that has polterguiest (sp?) activity and had bruising and passed out. It was part of one of the ghost tours in Edinburgh, even been on tv about it a few times.

The other night, I was walking in the hallway, and I bumped into something. I thought it was my brother, because it was dark in the hallway, very dark, so I just saw a shadow, and it was a few inches taller than me. My brother had been wearing black that day so I figured that's why I didn't see him. But I BUMPED into it and it definitely felt like a person. And I turned around and saw it walking down the hallway. I didn't think anything of it and came upstairs...where my brother was on the computer. And HAD been. We were alone in the house. I even went back to check. So I guess it was either my imagination, which I doubt because I FELT it, or it was a spirit.

Well actually i'm not sure i think so but not sure this happened when i was 8 or 9 so

Two nights after my grandpa died i was laying in bed and my bedroom door was locked cause i was mad at my step dad anyways my door was locked and you cant unlock it from the outside, I was dozing off and all and my door suddenly openned and i heard foot steps so i sat up and went to reach for my light when i felt a cold breeze brush my hair back for a moment, i shivered and as i clicked the light on my door slammed shut and i went to get up to open it but it was still locked....

Also the other night me and my boyfriend were in the graveyard cause i told him i wanted to look at some stars and we were at his work (he works at a truckstop with alot of street lights) so we tried to go up the mountian but the gate was locked so he took me to the cemetery instead well we got out of the car and all and sat on the tailgate looking up at the stars and talking well we stopped talking for a bit cause we had nothing more to say and we started hearing footsteps and noises like talking and giggling but it was just me and him for like 6 miles... we thought we saw alittle kid or 2 little kids but when we looked agian there was nothing.... Maybe we were just imaginning things i dunno...

God, there's some pretty weird stuff in here. I'm a bit freaked out at the moment.

Anyway i've had 2 supernatural experiences. The first one is similar to Angel baby's. I was about 10 and had lost my fran about 2 weeks before. I went to sleep and dreamt that she came in and sat on my bed, and told me not to let my parents move into her house. They had been planning on buying it for a while. Well, when I woke up from the dream I could have sworn I saw her stood at my bedroom door then turn and shut the door behind her. The door shut. I ran to it and into my parents room to check it wasn't them and they were asleep.

Second time was last year when I lost my grandad. He was put in hospital cos he was really ill and died that night at 5.30am. Anyway again that night I had a dream, in my dream my grandad came into my room and told me that he wouldn't make it and to let everyone know he loved them. I woke myself up because I was crying hysterically, and when i looked at the clock it was 5.30am!

I've read that if you dream about somebody who's died and they're speaking to you, then it's not actually a dream, it's their way of communicating with you. It's never happened to me, so I couldn't say, but that's what I read.

Yeah! Well I've always believed that. I think it helped with the grief. I know that when my Grandma died and came to me at my house, my mum was having weird experiences at my Grans house. She says that everytime they went to look around it, she felt like somebody was pushing her towards the door!

Freaky stuff.

Yeah i've always believed that too I'm a huge believer in spooky stuff, I always like trying to go to places supposedly inhabbited by "Ghosts" and stuff like that....

To be honest, I don't really believe in the freaky stuff you described, like people appearing in dreams shortly after their deaths. I think it's just the way one's mind copes with the loss; that however doesn't mean that whatever they say may not be true... but it's knowledge you already posses.

Fair enough, but my dream about my grandad was at the same time as he died in real life. Not after his death.

Or you know i mean there could just be skeptics who have in there mind not to believe because they are too afraid to think that maybe there is something out there that is unexplainable ally ;)

I also have two weird stories, The first one is about my Mom, she says that the night she gave birth to me, she had an OBE(Outer Body experience) she remembers floating up from the bed and turning around and looking down at herself and the other women in the room!

The second a friend of mine told me, and her Mom backs her up, when she was really young she was in her house, her grandmother was in her granny flat(A small house beside the house), anyway, she says her grandmother appeared in front of her, and started waving, she then said 'Bye Granny' then her Mom walked into the room to see who she was talking to, she then told her Mom what she saw, the mom went in to tell the grandmother, and she had died! creepy!
