One late evening Vicki witnesses a gruesome murder – except because of her bad sight, she’s not really sure what she saw. She itches to get back to what she does best, solving crimes, but her old colleague, police detective Mike Cellucci warns her against getting involved. Meanwhile, Henry Fitzroy, a vampire living in Toronto, also decides to look into the murders lest they be blamed on a vampire – himself for example.

Vicki and Henry team up to solve the case and Vicki aquires an assistant, Coreen Fennel.

This was pretty good - I didn't love it, but it has potential. :)

I only saw part one (it finally downloaded through iTunes). Pretty good but cheesy, especially the first 15 minutes. Everything improved after that. The goth girl was so corny at first "He was a walker of the night!" Please. Who the hell talks like that?

But I think this could be a fun little show.

Yeah that goth girl (Lie to Me episode of Buffy anyone?) - wait until you see the end pry. *sigh*

No wonder no one took her seriously. Why didn't she just come out and say vampire from the start? Total Chanterelle moment. Ugh.

:)

lol

The goth chick isn't going to be recurring, is she?

Part Two is taking so long to download. I hope it will be finished within a few hours but I think I may not get to watch it til tomorrow after work (boo!). I hear that next week's episode is about voodoo. Sounds intriguing.

Oh and am I the only one who hates Vicky's "human" love interest? That cop guy? He was annoying as hell, and almost all of the bad acting came from HIM. And the nerd guy who was summoning the vampire. What a loser cliche. Please tell me he dies a gory death.

Well all I know about it is it's about zombies, so could be voodoo. Sounds like The Laughing Corpse (LKH book). I don't know why I'm comparing this show to other shows and things today, cause I usually don't care, but...lol...

Yeah I'd be happy if he got killed soon. That guy's been on something else but I can't put my finger on what.

And the nerd guy who was summoning the vampire. What a loser cliche. Please tell me he dies a gory death.

I don't recall it being gory...but he gets his...a very annoying bad guy though. When I rewatched the episode I was fast forwarding through his parts.

I'm going to have to download it, I guess.....I set a timer, and it went off, but for some reason only recorded 39 minutes. In the middle. Very weird. Anyway, the little I did see....I have to agree with you both, AWAY with the cop guy (he's definitely wearing the cheese.) LOVE the vampire, tho....she needs to get it on with him. Can ya tell I'm ALL over Anita? LOL! I didn't see the goth chick, maybe she was in the part I missed?

She's at the beginning and the end.

I wish they'd cut Henry's hair...the long curly hair thing is so cliche lol

Yeah you should d/l it. Even if it never gets un-cheesy, I'd probably continue watching it if it was where the pilot was, but hopefully it will improve. I just like the premise of it, and how every episode is centered around them investigating the occult. If it was just a soap about their romance I wouldn't watch. And at least this series has way better acting and a way better lead than Blade: The Series! :D

Edit:

I wish they'd cut Henry's hair...the long curly hair thing is so cliche lol

I agree for the simple fact guys with long hair annoy me. It's like a pet peeve. Hair should not be that long on a guy. He's in 2007 now, he should do it short and spiky.

Ahhh, that explains why I missed her! He does need to cut his hair, but something tells me it's not going to happen. He's a vampire, you know...he's gotta look the part! Ha!

"Dear Canadians,

Just because your country is known for lame, low-budged, cliched television, there is no reason you can give the vampire in Blood Ties a trim. Thank you.

Sincerely,

A Concerned American."

How is that?

I like this a lot. I think Vicky is cool and I loved the chemestry between her and Henry. The banter between the two was great! The fight scene between Henry and that Freddie look a like demon was cool. I also loved the mention of the Hellfire club, and the fact that Henry still has a pocket watch. That bits cute :)

Part Two is definitely better than Part One...a lot of Vicki's little comments made me laugh too, especially the one about seeing the vampire in the mirror. But this definitely gives me hope that the rest of the show will be enjoyable.
