Summary:

We are introduced to Harry Dresden, private detective and practicing wizard. When he tries to help the Chicago Police Department solve a grisly murder, he finds himself the target of a homicidal magician. And as if that isn't bad enough, the High Council of wizards begins to think that he is falling to the dark side, so he must elude them as well. Now he must stop the murderer and clear his name before his time runs out.

I thought this one was pretty good - but we all know I like the council episodes :) I liked that they brought Bianca back for it, and that there was the surprise at the end about who was really doing it.

I've only just got around to watching this and really liked it.

A question though...I know that the eps are not being shown in order, so was this the pilot? It just seemed to have that feel...lots of exposition about the Council and Harry's past(the scenes which seemed to show his killing of his uncle, the black wizard), a feeling of introduction when characters appear (like Murphy and her partner, like Morgan and Bianca), significant characters not appearing (Bob!) and seemingly significant characters who weren't in any other eps I can remember (the blonde journalist woman...Sue?) Also, there seemed a lot more magick spells flying around than other eps...which showed off some great effects...the sort of thing I'd do if I wanted to attract attention to a new show :)

Yes this was the pilot, only several scenes were reshot so it's sort of a pilot remix, I guess, lol.
