Introducing new traveler Martha Jones to the picture as she meets a mysterious John Smith. And before she knows it, the hospital she was working in is on the moon and it's under seige from the the Judoon...

Cracking series opener. Loved the Judoon, despite their resemblance to old Who villains the Sontarans, and the Plasmavore was also a good villain. I really think I'm going to like Martha better than Rose :) David Tennant is now firmly established as my favourite Doctor.

This episode was a cracker!

Being on the sfx forum and the DT one ( an official site) i just forgot here!
anyway the intro of Martha was great, the Jodoon, well if anyone watched the disney version of robin hood, you have seen em before! lol

And hitchickers too....
anyway,

The Dr's flirting with Martha in the hospital bed was funny, her reaction to his beating hearts....priceless.

His sudden apearance before she started her shift i never got, but all the same it was amusing.

Back to his sudden appearance at the start, finally you get an answer he traveled back in time! Genius!

The Plasmavore, well unless the straw was sonic, made of Alien material i just don't get how she managed to suck through it!

The Dr's dancing or hopping was funny too, his trying to get the radiation to his foot in order to get rid of it.
I loved the fact that he talked about it as if Martha was familiar with Alien science stuff, even though she wasn't, was it a Tom Baker Dr moment?
Because i could picture his Dr doing the same....

I loved the beginnings of the relationship, as he offers her a one off for saving his life, he mimics rather comically "it's bigger on the inside, pure DT comic genius!
I could see Dr nine doing that for some reason.
Anyway i liked how the relationship is starting from the beginning, and is slowly being developed rather than instant chemistry, well in Martha's case the chemistry was different hee hee...
Her remarks on his tight clothing was brilliant, and his squerming was fun to watch too.

Can't wait to watch how their relationship develops.

Back to his sudden appearance at the start, he traveled back in time...finally she gats it, minute paradox, but still genius!

Hey...you Brits and such are supposed to warn us culturally deprived North Americans when stuff like this is coming up so we can be prepared. It's OK though...found it. I'm watching it right now.

Love the way the opening just blasts away at you out of the blue without preparation. It's a great rush after a long wait. Schoolboy giggles to see Freema Agyeman's name twirling around in the credits in place of Billie Pipers.

First reaction - Freema is hot.

Rewound multiple times couldn't figure out the Doctor's first words to Martha. Something like "Like so...see."

John Smith is the alias The Doctor has used since the early seasons, correct?

The Doctor's eyes keep wandering up and down Martha. He's a lech. :)

Was Martha's cousin Adeola who died at Canary Wharf the character we saw Freema play in the Season 2 finale, because that would be fun.

The Doctor mentions how he likes a little hospital shop. He said that once before in New Earth I think.

Emily Pankhurst - the woman who stole the Doctor's laser spanner - was a British militant suffragette of the early 1900s. We don't know stuff like that over here. We have to look it up.

"Barefoot on the moon". That's quoteable.

What's with the "Saxon" stuff. The doctor on the radio says "Mr. Saxon is right. There are aliens", or something like that, then later when our Doctor draws Martha into the alley there's a poster behind him that says "Vote Saxon".

Freema's a little hippy. I like it myself, but apparently it's not what the cool kids are doing this season. She should avoid the tight jeans. Anyone else intrigued by her shoulder tat.

hehe...that's funny. Martha can't go travelling in space, because she's got exams in the morning.

OK, I get the tie thing now. I guess that is what he said - "Like so...see". Oh, but wait, I only went to the bother of trying to hear that, because, I wanted to know the Doctors first words to Martha. That's not right though. Those aren't his first words to her. Maybe in our time, but not in Doctor Who time. I have to go back and check. Don't mind though. Great ep. Next weeks looks even better.

Rumour has it that the Mr Saxon thing will be the arc for this season. Saxon references have already appeared in the ep Love and Monsters last season, the Captain Jack Harkness Torchwood ep and The Runaway Bride.
You may find This Site (http://www.votesaxon.org.uk/) interesting :) A Wikipedia search for Mr Saxon will send you to a page full of spoilery goodness :)

This year's World Book Day saw another release of Quick Reads (http://www.niace.org.uk/quickreads/user/index.php) books in the UK, one of which was Made of Steel (http://www.niace.org.uk/quickreads/user/book_detail.php?BookID=12) by Terrance Dicks (veteran Doctor Who novelist) which features a Doctor/Martha adventure and apparently ties up loose ends from Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, including the identity of Martha's cousin...yea, it was Adeola :) I must get a copy at the weekend...

So good to have this back on TV! I missed the episode and only remembered it was on when I saw this thread, so only just saw the episode now.

Very cool, I really like Marta, I wasn't sure I would lake her since I loved Rose, but Marta is cool - I like that she's smart, thats fun to play against the Doctor. And yeah she is really hot, didn't notice that in the promo pics, but in the actual episode she is seriously hot!

I liked how they tied up that bit about her cousin. And yeah saw that Saxon poster and totally recognised it was gonna be a part of something!

Seeing the Doctor in the blue suit was odd.
