Dean and Sam are discussing Sam’s premonitions while sitting in the car. Sam’s worried about what’s happening to him. Dean tries to reassure and comments “You look like last week’s roadkill.” “Thanks,” Sam replies. “You always know how to make me feel special.” (“Special” Get it? Ha.) Apparently Sam’s had a premonition about a family that recently had a tragedy. Dean’s idea to get in the house is to pose as clergymen. Sam comments “This has got to be a whole new low for us.”

Father Dean and Father Samuel introduce themselves as junior priests from First Presbyterian (insert name of church). A man named Roger says it’s not a good time for a visit and begins to close the door, but Alice Miller, wife of the deceased, says she wants to talk to them. (Roger’s her brother-in-law.) Inside the house neighbors and friends have gathered, bringing food. Dean makes a comment about everyone being God’s children, Sam rolls his eyes, and calls Dean “Father Freako.” It seems Jim, the husband, committed suicide and their son, Max, found the body. Sam goes to talk to the boy.

We skip to another scene and I think Roger has also died now. Max seems devastated, and Alice isn’t talking. Dean finds out a bit about Max’s childhood and he and Sam go to visit Max’s old house where they’re pretty sure something bad happened years ago.

They find out from a neighbor, Kenneth, that Roger and Jim used to abuse Max and that Alice -- his stepmother -- never did anything to stop it. Sam gets a sudden horrible migraine and has flashes of a vision -- Max arguing with Alice about the way his father and uncle beat him, then killing her by telekinetically plunging a knife into her eye.

End of Act II

Dean slips a gun into the waistband of his jeans and he and Sam run into the house. Alice is fine, but the setup in the kitchen is exactly the way it was in Sam’s vision -- knife trembling on counter and all. Sam and Dean know they got there just in time. (So, Sam’s visions can be prevented -- again, just like Cordelia on ANGEL.)

Sam and Dean get Max outside to talk to him, although Max is suspicious. However, as they’re walking to the front door Max sees the outline of Dean’s gun beneath his shirt. The door slams shut by itself, trapping all of them inside, as do all the other doors and windows in the house. Dean pulls his gun, but Max -- furious -- causes it to fly out of Dean’s hand and slide on the floor to him where he pockets it. However, the effort of all the telekinesis is taxing on Max and is making him sweat. Alice doesn’t understand, Max tells her to shut up, then he flings her against a table where she hits her head.

Sam tried to talk to Max ... tells him that he’s like him, able to do things he can’t understand. Dean’s ready to spring into action if given a chance. Sam convinces Max to let Dean take Alice upstairs, then he continues to talk to him. He tells Max he saw him kill his father and uncle in a nightmare, and how he was about to kill Alice with the knife. It seems Max’s dad always blamed him for his mother’s death and that was why he beat him. However, Max’s mother died when Max was just a baby -- in his nursery -- burned to death pinned against the ceiling.

End of Act III

Act IV

Sam tells Max the same thing happened to him and that’s why they’re connected. Max also tells Sam that his telekinetic abilities started 6 months ago -- the same time Sam’s abilities started. Max believes he’s been given powers to get back at the people who hurt him. Sam tells Max that he and Dean are hunting the thing that killed their mothers. Max, however, can’t let himself forgive. He hurls Sam telekinetically into a closet and blocks it with a large oak china cabinet. Sam can’t get out.

In the bedroom upstairs Dean is pressing a cold cloth to Alice’s bleeding head. The door slowly opens and Max enters.

Downstairs Sam hears Alice scream, shouts “No!,” and the china cupboard slides away from the door all on its own. (Now Sam has telekinesis too?) Sam opens the door, confused, but runs upstairs, breaks down the bedroom door and finds--

Max standing opposite Dean in the center of the room, the gun hovering in the air between them and pointed at Dean’s head. Max is in obvious pain from the effort. Max looks at Sam while Dean waits for a chance to spring. Sam tells him that killing Dean won’t make the pain go away. Max says that Sam’s right, then he turns the gun on himself. We focus on Sam’s face as the shot rings out.

End Act IV

Act V

Alice is still alive and talking to the cops. Dean’s worn out “but present” while Sam is completely shellshocked and “deep in his own head.” Alice tells the cops that Sam and Dean came to try and help, but that Max threatened them with the gun before turning it on himself (And I wonder here if anyone ever traces the gun back to Dean?) Dean feels partially responsible for what happened -- Alice losing her whole family now.

The cop tells Dean and Sam they’re free to go and they walk to the Impala.

That’s all of the sides, folks, and this “hunt” sounds like an all around failure for our guys.

Sounds pretty good to me.

The brothers investigate a mysterious death which seems connected to a boy with the power of telekinesis.

Interesting...

Pretending to be clergy will be a new one for our boys!

Really not sure how I feel about Sam's visions being preventative. Or the fact that he might now have telekinesis.

I'm a bit worried about this one too. Sounds a bit...cheesy. Well...some of it anyway.
