I'm curious about this. I guess it was already released in my town in February, lol. I wasn't even aware. Probably for the best. I don't think I could sit through it all in a theater (3 hrs). It comes out on DVD June 12th in the States. Aug 20 in the UK. The script was written while filming. Apparently it has no plot, in the traditional sense. Laura Dern stars. Shot on digital video, Lynch has said he won't work with actual film anymore. Ebert gave it four stars (if you give a damn about Ebert)!

Hey, I'm just happy to read someone's replied to my thread, heh. Where's Epo when you need her...she's a Peaks fan.

I liked the two hour TP pilot but after that I just wasn't really interested. David Lynch is just odd. I'm sure one day I'll watch at least season one of it but...I find it to be an overrated show.

David Lynch is my god. Ok, not really....but I have a soft spot for him, I'm sure y'all can figure out why, lol!
This actually sounds interesting to me, just because Lynch did it. I'll probably be bored to tears, but hey....I'll try anything once!

I've never seen Lynch's Dune, Miffed. Do you like it?
I just appreciate the way he works. People think he's a poseur, trying to pull a fast one on people. It's just sort of non-rational, free association, from-the-gut stuff. It all works as an emotional, visceral experience, for me. I literally got chills up my spine watching that 2nd trailer the 1st time. Is that pathetic? lol. Music does that to me. Not many filmmakers.
But he can make great "real" movies when he wants to. The Straight Story is still one of my all time faves. I dust that one off a couple times a year.

I'm not sure if like is exactly the right word....more like obsessively adore? What I like about Lynch is that he seems to have a visual style that really makes the whole film for me......like the mise en scene he creates meshes perfectly with what I see in my head.

I don't think I can sit through three hours of Lynch.
After I saw "Lost Highway" and "Mulholland Drive" back to back a few years ago, I swore off of anything Lynch for life. Those movies made no friggin' sense to me. Perhaps that can be attributed to a lack of grey matter on my part, but screw that. I like my movies linear and with a comprehendable plot.
I did love "Twin Peaks" though, as well as his "Blue Velvet".

Oh, I meant to mention Mulholland Drive and I forgot! I have yet to see it, tho I've been meaning to for a while now. I don't know why I never get around to it. I love Blue Velvet, tho.

I thought The Elephant Man was an interesting piece too. I like the way Lynch works with sound, or the lack thereof. And music.
