Summary:

Sam (Jared Padalecki) is abducted by the Yellow-Eyed Demon and finds himself in a ghost town with other children who have special abilities. They learn the Demon has brought them together to initiate his endgame: an all-out war against the human race.

In an effort to encourage Sam to fight, the Demon shows him what really happened to one of his parents.

Dean (Jensen Ackles) enlists Bobby's (guest star Jim Beaver) help to find Sam before the battle begins, but he arrives too late.

Sera Gamble wrote the episode directed by Robert Singer.

This one wasn't bad, but I got the feeling it didn't reach it's potential. It wasn't as good as it could have been.

Something about this show...sometimes it's just so generic, filled with weak acting from the guest stars...poorly developed characters. Like the soldier from Afghaninstan. Blah.

I liked the one psychic guy and the dippy girl who let that demon sneak in to gut him. They were pretty well-developed in their previous eps.

That demon was pretty freaky. The effects are good on this show. Jensen Ackles is def the best actor here...

For an episode entitled "All Hell Breaks Loose", it sure left a lot to be desired. Hell definitely did not break loose. Hell didn't even loosen. Oh well, it was a fairly good episode. The black soldier guy WAS a terrible, terrible actor. I mean, worse than daytime soap bad. It was like he had absolutely no idea what he was doing, that he'd never ever acted before.

I liked the guy from "Simon Said", was sad to see him go. Ava was kinda annoying to me. The angsty lesbian chick was even more annoying.

I sure hope next week is better...this episode was mostly setup, and we better get a good payoff next week.

Not a bad setup for next weeks...if it's good.
Mrs TT made an interesting comment. Sam can't be dead because a deal was made with the yellow eyed demon and John for Sam's life. Might mean something might not.

That's a good point, although Sam can't be dead anyhow because he's one of the only two regular cast members. And also, the relationship between the brothers is what this show is centered on. Plus the show doesn't have enough guts to do it. And I don't think the Demon/Evil Children storyline will come to an actual conclusion next week.

However, I wouldn't really MIND if Sam died and was replaced by a better actor and more interesting character. Because Jared's acting just isn't improving quickly enough.

Was he this mediocre in Gilmore Girls?

Was he this mediocre in Gilmore Girls?

I would like to answer this question but if it's a chick series that my wife is not interested in I don't watch it...and I don't encourage her either, lol.
We have a deal I don't make her watch home renovation shows and she doesn't make me watch those decorating shows. The rest of the deal on tv shows she has the power. She always plays the watch this show with me if you want to see me naked again card.

One thought I had about Sam is maybe he is dead but a 'good' spirit takes over his body? Remember they were running with that theme this year good demons bad demons. Just a thought...

Since Jared's acting was so great in "Born Under a Bad Sign" where he was evil, wouldn't it be an interesting dynamic if, somehow his body survived and he was taken over by an evil spirit, and the first part of season three would have Dean on his own, hunting while trying to find a way to bring Sam back, while the evil Sam roamed free or whatever? I think that would be very interesting to see.

Maybe while Sam is off they could bring in Eliza Dushku to hunt with Dean...yummy...

Ah this is what dreams are made of. (That is, good TV and Eliza Dushku.)

I remembered this from the show...
When the demon took Sam on a flashback Sam's mother looked into the room and thought it was John over Sam's crib. But when she came back and the demon turned around she said "Oh it's You!"
Ahhhhhhh what the hell does that mean?

Didnt John make the deal for Dean's life, not Sams?
