Has anyone tried this Democracy Video Player yet? I just heard about it, and I'm downloading it right now. Sounds pretty neat. It looks like it will handle pretty much any video format like VLC, but it's prettier, and you can do other stuff like watch as you stream, and download at the same time if you like. It looks like it maybe connects you to online TV channels too. Plus I think it handles crap like quicktime, or Real so you can watch that stuff online without giving them access to your start menu, or hopefully by-pass some of the DRM.

Here's what they say officially.

...but what makes it awesome?

* 1. Play All Your Videos
Play virtually any video-- Quicktime, WMV, MPEG, AVI, XVID, and more. Browse your collection, make playlists, stay organized.

* 2. Get Internet TV Shows
Subscribe to any video RSS feed, podcast, or video blog. Explore over 1,000 free channels with the built-in Channel Guide.

* 3. Search YouTube
Download and save videos from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, and other sites.

* 4. High Definition and Fullscreen
Your computer screen is a high-def display. Watch free HD videos in gorgeous fullscreen.

* 5. Torrent Power
Easily download any BitTorrent file. Fast. Then watch it in the same app. Simple.

Oh yeah, and it's free.

I just tried it out. It's not everything I'd hoped for. No Fast Forward. What kind of video player is that? Unless I'm doing something wrong I don't know.

Still...nice to look at. Also it still has some interesting capabilities. I haven't tried them all out yet.

Mine got effed up somehow. I can't click on anything. It gives me an error. Damn. I'll reinstall tomorrow...
