GEEZ. My mind is just...boggled. I read that the format of the show was going to change. Does that mean season four will pick up after the island and we'll get flashbacks showing what happened? I mean, WTF?

Good episode though. I'm too confused to write any more...

I know. Boggled, bent, and blown - my mind too. I loved it.

Poor Charlie...best death scene since Buffy.

God, when will they learn to check to make sure ol one-eye is dead?

And Hurley saving the day in the Dharma bus. I was giggling like a school girl.

Is Kate married to Sawyer, or is Sawyer in the casket? Why isn't Kate in jail?

You guys get angry when I suggest this, but I still haven't given up on alternate realities as a possibility.

How does Cyclops get a harpoon through the heart and live? It's like an 80s horror movie. Or a 2000's remake of an 80s horror movie (this is Lost though, so...).

Yeah, I wasn't sure who the funeral was for. Did I miss it or are we supposed to guess? Jack wouldn't be that broken up about Sawyer. Juliet? But no one showed up. Maybe it was Sawyer...

I figured Kate must have snagged a new fake identity...but it seems dicey living in the States. Why is she in Jack's hometown?

I hope it's not an alternate reality thing. Or a psychic vision thing. I like that they've (apparently) upended the show this way.

Edit:

Hmm. Ben told Jack that if they called for the ship to save them, everybody on the island would die. Is this something like Hurley's dilemma? He wins the lottery, then slowly his life starts to unravel? Relatives, aquaintances start dying off in accidents? Have all the islanders been dying off since they've (apparently) been rescued?

I'm guessing it's either Ben or Locke in the casket.
So Ben heads to the tower and he tells Richard to take the rest of the group to the temple. Say what??? Temple??? When they had the show about when Ben came to the island my wife told me nahmastay is an East Indian expression about the God within you. So is the 4 toed statue tied to the temple?
Wow Rousseau finally gets her daughter and the first thing she says to her is "Help me tie him up (Ben)". That was hilarious.
And I did a jig when my man Hurley went all Terminator with a VW van on the Others. Stop telling Hurley he can't do anything when he is everything!!!
I agree Charlie's death, though avoidable because he had enough time to get out of the room and lock the door, was extremely well done. I think he sacrificed himself because Desmond had it in his head if he did not die then the helicopter would not land to save them. Plus it sorta ties in with that God like hallucination he had in season 2.
I hope that is the last time we see Walt because man has he ever grown up and if they try to use him again it will ruin the illusion that it is only 3, 4 months they have been on the island.
If they do change the series to flashbacks to the island it would be for only one reason...cost to do the show in Hawaii. Remember a few years back Hawaii got their knickers in a knot about the environmental impact and were talking about jacking the price up for film shooting fees?
Besides I think it would be the perfect hook to finish the series. First three seasons was about getting off the island with flashbacks about the characters. Last three seasons will be about the ramifications of leaving the island with flashbacks about what happened to the characters after being rescued and taken off the island.
But I am not putting a lot of faith in the chopper saving them the message on Charlie's hand to Desmond is going to come into play and maybe stop the rescue. Also Penny might have a lock on the island now that she can triangulate signals now that the jamming equipment is off.

Did anyone else get the feeling Jack's father is still alive in the flash forward? I mean, I know you can reason your way around it, and say Jack gave the pharmacy girl a false signature, and she was going to call a dead number to the father's office, but the possibility of Jack's father still being alive in whatever future they find themselves seems to be out there now. Or did I miss something in that scene? I wish I'd taped this one.

And doesn't Jack say something to the doctor like "call my father down here right now"

I thought the same thing but I because Jack was so stoned on hillbilly heroin he didn't realise what he said to the doctor.
And at the pharmacy he knew he was submitting a forged script and if the pharmacist called his dad's office the pharmacist was bound by law to call the cops and report it.
The reason he went to Australia was to retrieve a dead father. I can't see the writers bringing back the dead. But hey this is Lost and anything can happen...

I didn't realize that Jack's dad appears to be alive until today, when I was thinking about the show.

And also, if the show picks up next season off the island, they can't show them off the island and have the flashbacks taking place after the island too. And I highly doubt they'll stop filming in Hawaii, you'd think they would have announced that by now.

To me there are only two ways to do it:

- Have the main action occur off-island with flashbacks TO the island.
- Have the main action occur on-island with flash-forwards.

OR maybe the flash-forward was just something they used that once and it will pick up in the same format.

But if it has to be one of the first two, I choose two. If the main action doesn't occur on the island like it always has I think that would be a big mistake.

Apparently the guy who plays Locke sold his house in Hawaii. Other cast members have been migrating as well. This I heard at a Lost forum.

Sooo this might explain 18 episode's per season. The show needs more production time for green screen technology that is going to be the island. When Hawaii was getting testy with the show ABC said if they keep it up they will just move the show to LA and use green screen.

Whoa! I actually don't know what to say about the finale! Like I just can't process that!

I did know it was a flash forward from the moment he used his mobile, cuz it's brand new and they don't make mistakes like that!

Charlie can't be dead, I really liked charlie! And his death didn't make sense! He could have closed the door behind him, instead of infront of him! Or he could have swam out the window and tried to make it for the surface!

Do we think that was actually Walt, or like a second him like when shannon died? I liked how they tried to hide how much older he was with the odd angels! lol

Can't wait to see the format for next season!

I think Charlie wanted to die because Desmond told him that's the only way Claire and Aaron would get off the island, remember? So he was saving them.
