Just wondering if people would be interested in having forums for these two shows?
I had initially thought to limit the main forums to newer shows, but if there's a great demand I wouldn't be opposed to them.

To be honest, I'm indifferent, cause I watch neither show, but if it gets this place some more buzzing.

A bit late, but I'm for the idea. I'm a die-hard Charmed and Smallville fan, and both are very popular. Especially in Forums. I would probably be your first Member. 'Specially if it's Smallville/Charmed. ;)

I meant adding them to this board :)

I stand corrected.
Sure, I'm for it. And you know a Ghost Whisperer forum would be the cherry on top. ;)

Only recently started watching Smallville after managing to keep away for four seasons. A forum for this show would be nice to get a little discussion on...as well as help draw some more souls into the fold, like Allycat said.

Don't watch it myself - but if there's enough interest in it once we get going I'll add it :)

I'd kinda like to have a Charmed board here. But whatever you decide is cool :D

I'd prefer a Smallville forum over Charmed, but if there's a demand for both than I wouldn't be dissapointed. I only recently started watching Smallville again myself, I missed most of the previous season - but I'm still a huge fan of the show. I haven't watched much of Charmed for the past few seasons, having been dissapointed with the way the show was going, but like I said - if both forums pop up around the board, I would be just as happy. Ecspecially since I'm sure it'd bring in a whole wave of new members.

I don't watch Smallville or Charmed. But it would be cool if there was a section for canceled skiffy shows that've had a bit of a cult audience and then subsections for the shows. Like Buffy/Angel, Wonderfalls, Miracles, Point Pleasant, Tru Calling, and definitely Dark Shadows. I think that if we can get this forum some more exposure and let more people know about it, that enough people would use those sections to justify creating them.
But I've noticed how fanatical Charmed fans can be, so maybe a section for that wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

I'm waffling about whether Charmed and Smallville really fit into the feel of the show. Of course I watch both, which makes me want forums, but they somehow make the board...less...somehow.
Wonderfalls wasn't a sci-fi show, was it? I'm hesitant to create a lot of sub-forums, cause for some odd reason it seems to be off putting (from past experience). I probably wouldn't do anthing with Buffy/Angel because I have the other board for that. Tru Calling and Point Pleasant people didn't really seem to want to post about after the show ended, and especially not when they were sub-forums, which again makes me hesitant. Miracles I never watched.
Dark Shadows...now there I would be torn because I religiously watched the remake in the 90's and actually have the whole series on video lol. But I don't think the original show's eps are airing anymore, are they? They were for a while. I'm not sure how many people who would come here would want to discuss it.
My suggestion (as always) is to start threads in the off-topic area and see what happens.
I am wondering if we need to seperate 'Off-topic' with a second forum for like general sci-fi/paranormal discussion.

Wonderfalls was fantasy, yes.

Really? What was it about?
PS No Dark Shadows reruns going :(
We could do a 'Gone But Not Forgotten' type forum...

It was a HILARIOUS dramedy about a girl who had inanimate objects of animals talk to her.
Man I'm just discovering the wonderful world of Dark Shadows...I wish reruns of the original were on so I don't have to spend all the money on DVDs. We should get a campaign going to get ABC to do a new version, since the creator, Dan Curtis, is working on Night Stalker.

Well the new version they were going to do last year was such crap -the casting was horrible. I shudder to think what they could do to it.

I heard that Dan Curtis was going to do some massive reworkings if The WB had picked up the show. And the reviews were great, people said it was fast-paced and addicting. Who did they have cast as Barnabas?
If ABC did it, just think about how much more power they have than The WB. They could afford to do a massive ad campaign like "Lost". They have more money to pump into the show's budget. I doubt they'd let them cast anything but really great actors. And I highly doubt a new version would be worse than the previous two - and I doubt it would be as corny. The others are extremely so, but I love them anyway.
A new series could definitely be a hit. And it would be nice if they filmed it with those awesome cameras used in Night Stalker.

Here's a description of Wonderfalls:
Wonderfalls is probably the most hilarious show you've never seen. An hour-long "dramedy" about a young woman who hears the voices of inanimate objects--which instruct her to help out total strangers--the show aired on Fox in early 2004 to critical acclaim and dismal ratings. After airing four times in terrible time slots, the show was quickly canceled, but not before a hue and cry from a small but fervently devoted cadre of fans went up, begging for all 13 episodes to be released on DVD. Thus, the highest-profile DVD release of a canceled show was born, and the nine unaired episodes of Wonderfalls are finally seeing the light of day.
You may be wondering: is it worth it to check out a show that was axed so quickly? The answer is an unqualified yes, as Wonderfalls is quirky without being precious, sardonic without being bitter, and smart without being a show-off about it. Jaye (Caroline Dhavernas) is a graduate of Brown University who's opted not to put her education to work, and instead lives in a trailer and works at a tourist shop in Niagara Falls, to the consternation of her affluent, successful family. All seems to be going well for this self-proclaimed slacker, until one day a small toy lion speaks to her in enigmatic epigrams, commanding her to help people. Loath to deal in any compassionate way with the rest of humanity, Jaye warily obeys, if only to make the voices stop. Soon, though, she finds herself to be an unwilling humanitarian and accidental hero when more inanimate objects start talking to her, and more people turn out to need her help.
The premise may sound a bit too off-the-beaten-path, but Wonderfalls' meddling with the ethereal was grounded in a keen awareness of post-college life and the travails befalling young twentysomethings who had no idea where their life was going. And instead of being sanctimonious or inspiring, the show was instead a complex mix of the heartfelt and the angsty, and Dhavernas was one of the most cynically hopeful heroines to grace the small screen. The rest of the cast was also topnotch, including Kate Finneran as Jaye's high-strung sister, Diana Scarwid as her caustic mother, and Tyron Leitso as bartender Eric, whose tentative romance with Jaye was both affecting and hilarious. Think of Wonderfalls as less of a failure and more of a rare opportunity to see some of the most creative television in recent memory. --Mark Englehart

Maybe just a sub-forum for tv-shows, one for movies, and maybe one for games, cause the general forum is now for both on- and off-topic discussion, which is slightly confusing.

Do you mean video games?

Yes, plenty of those are scifi, supna, horror, fantasy, or related genres.

I think a Gone but not Forgotten forum would be cool! and I still think a Charmed forum would be very cool!

Going to start two polls for this - I'm increasingly thinking that they don't really fit in here though.

I agree that the tone is very different; they're not as obscure as the other shows perhaps nor as deep, I guess.

Yeah, Charmed is cool. But it's not an after-darkness type-thing. it's a like, before-sunrise thing. Wait that's the same. Well then. It's too bright. Goddess. If you know what i'm saying...yeah.
