Damn, I wish I were in LA right now.

The LAFF will also feature a series of screenings called "Los Angeles Destroys Itself," with classics such as Escape from L.A., Night of the Comet, Them! and Earthquake.

As part of the Dark Wave series, Crispin Glover plays an underground illusionist in Wizard of Gore, and the Russian ghost story Dead Daughters debuts. In the Guilty Pleasures section of the festival, Flight of the Living Dead depicts zombies on a plane. There's also a 50th-anniversary screening of 20 Million Miles to Earth and even a singalong The Buffy Musical: Once More With Singing!, a screening of the musical episode of TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hosted by creator Joss Whedon.

The closing-night movie on July 1 will be Danny Boyle's futuristic Sunshine. Set in 2057, the film is about a group of scientists who embark on a space mission to reignite the ailing sun. It stars Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh and Rose Byrne; the cast and crew of the British film are expected to attend the premiere and closing-night party.

The L.A. Film Festival runs June 21 through July 1.
