GEEZ. I'd get tired of playing the same thing for a decade. Maybe she just can't get work?
I really think the Stargate franchise needs to die after those DVD films and a few more seasons of Atlantis. I honestly am surprised it has lasted all these years. The movie is good, the show is okay...pretty entertaining but definitely NOT must-see TV, Atlantis is...I don't really have an opinion on it. But I think it's time it goes away for a while.

You could not be more wrong, you could try but you would fail!!!
LOL
First of all on your same character for a decade thing.
I have an uncle, he works in a factory. He has done for 30 years and earns about $60k with 4 weeks holiday a year.
I'm sorry that existence would bore me BUT its the life many a person lives.
Tapping is playing a character on a TV show, earning far more than $60k with 3 months off(time to pursue other things) in a job she obviously enjoys with people she obviously gets on with.
I'm not seeing a downside.
Secondly, i'm against the idea of Stargate to die.
I really would have prefered, however, Atlantis to have gone, Season 7 Stargate SG-1 to be the last and have a spin off with Mitchell, Vala, Carter and maybe Rodney McKay with a superstrong Warrior as well(a Female one!!).
I mean the none O'Neil seasons feel like a spin off, so why not go the whole hog.
I love Daniel Jackson, but could do without him for a bit.

Actually after I typed that up, I thought about it a while and realized that maybe, if I was an actor, if I found a role that I truly loved and got used to being that person I might would like to play it for 10+ years.
I still think the franchise needs to take a rest though.
