This is the exact quote from The TV Magazine

'Ella makes one final attempt to kill evil Malachi. She must also stand up to Azazeal [(Michael Fassbender, above)], who is far stronger than her now she is a mortal again. Meanwhile Malachi becomes fixated with born-again virgin Roxanne - the ideal subject for him to really anger God. Leon makes a life-changing decision and becomes an unlikely hero.'

Now since the ending was different to this, I'm guessing they had to change it and this is what it used to be, which is intresting!!

Hmmm, I wonder why they changed it... perhaps the old version of the story was a bit too "final" ?!? Maybe not... the episode could've used a good fight scene.

Yeah it would have been very cool with a fight scene, I am not sure if Michael decided to leave or what, but if he did then I can see why that got changed.
