It's hard to say whether adding a female character or characters will hinder the show or not. Personally I think it's a very fine line that the creater's tred when adding new characters to a show such as this, and an even finer line when the main characters have been mostly males. Since I'm female I have some insight into the reaction of most females who are fans of this show...any new female characters will have to pass worthiness test. Not just any female can stand beside Dean and Sam and win our hearts. Especially if they turn into love interests for the boys.

In the Fan Ficition Season I am writing I have two female characters who hunt with Dean and Sam, and are love interests down the track...but that's competely different to actually putting such characters into action on the show. They have to be incredibly likeable and funny, but not complete mirror images of the boys. Carbon copies can get pretty boring sometimes. But then they can't be the simpering damsals in destress that put the boys in danger over and over again. That would just get boring annoying.

When the Third Season aired in Australia a couple of weeks ago and they had the blonde female demon come into right in the last ten minutes, I just about through my remote at the TV. I had an instant dislike for her, and hoped and prayed she wouldn't be joining Dean and Sam once a week on my couch. As you can see I didn't pay too much attention to her name as I don't like her.

If they do bring females into the show it will be a hard seel to all Female fans, they'd have to a do a pretty good job in making the characters likeable. Otherwise they'd have the make the characters very un-likeable...which I believe is a much better way to go. I love to watch character's I hate doing things that I don't want them doing. It's more entertaining.

I was cynical about the female characters when I first heard they were coming. Now that the details are out on the one though, I'm warming to the idea.

I don't think you're up to where we are so I'll only say it's better in this case not to make hasty assumptions. Things may not be as they seem.

I love both girls so far.

And personally I think it's a bit stupid when people automatically assume new characters will ruin the show, especially if they're females. The show is still going to be about Sam and Dean, that DOESN'T mean the show can't or shouldn't have minor characters that we can get to know and learn about.

And to be honest, Jared Padalecki is such a mediocre actor I get tired of Sam and wish there was a third regular cast member.

I want to see more of the 'in it for the money' girl before I make a decision on her. To me she is still on the fence and hasn't come to the realization if the demons win money means nothing.
As for Ruby...wow great addition! What's driving me a little crackers is what happened when she helped Bobby fix the colt and why he did not kill her. There's a story in there which I hope the writers don't leave out there unanswered.

I didn't mean for my last post to sound like I'd written off the female characters already, since I've only seen a few episodes, but I didn't want them to turn out to be love interests for the boys as THAT would have ruined it for me.

But now that I know that they are there to make the boys adventures and lives a TOUGH then I'm all up for new female characters. Anything to make the show better...even though the show rocks now!
