i checked the FAQs and couldnt find anything about the paging option. what is that and why do only some people have it?

You have to turn it on. There's a guide to the feature here:

You have to go into your profile and save it, it must update it or something, then it is visable in your ID card. When you click on it you can go into a msn like feature with the person you clicked 'Page Me'. Oh and they have ti be online.

They don't have to be online to use the pager, they just won't get it until they return. But please only use it for people who are online, otherwise use pm's.
