The rumor also fueled speculation that former Doctor Who co-star Billie Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler in the first two seasons, would return to the role for a feature film. British tabloid News of the World reported on Sept. 30 that Piper was close to signing a deal to return, but for a three-part special next summer, not a feature film.

She's in an unreachable alternate reality. Poor ol Doctor Who has more problems with companions in unreachable alternate realities than anyone I know. Romana and one of the K-9s are in one too.
