Personally I'm pleased at this news, as I loved Billie as Rose but I hope the stories are good enough to accomodate four (potentially) companions...we know the TARDIS is big enough to hold The Doctor, Martha, Donna, Jack and now Rose but can the scripts do them justice?

I heard that Jack was not in the episodes with the rest.
I'm excited by it too.
I'm still convinced its going to be the season final 5 episodes which three will deal with the Time war.

Have you heard anything more about the rumors companions Sarah Jane, K9, and Mickey will also be making appearances?

Actually I have.
I heard a rumour that Sarah Jane and K9 might be in the Doctor 'lite' episode of the next season.
Infact it was suggested that it would be Donna, Jack, Sarah Jane, Martha and K9 along with the girl from Blink searching for the Doctor as he has been lost or something.
This I heard last night from a friend who visits a Doctor Who site.
Wait. Wha, wha, what!!? The return of Sally Sparrow? It is to freak. Total nutzoid, Sally Sparrow fan here. This is the news that matters. To quote Britney (or is it Chris)..."gimme more". Specifically, a link will do.

I don't have a link(yet) so it's all speculative.
I'm basing it on a conversation in the pub that I had last night.
Alister: Did you hear, Billie Piper has signed for 3 episodes.
Andy: Yeah, it should be fun.
Alister: I heard it on my favourite forum, After-Darkness.Com where I'm like a king or something.
Andy: Cool. I read it in the News of the World, but then I had it confirmed by a legitimate source *slurps SoCo*. A Site I visit online that is a Doctor Who one, they said that she'll be in the final three.
Alister: *Finishing his dry roasted and having an Amaretto and Coke*It's going to be a packed series finale.
Andy: I know, I hope the rumour I heard about Sarah Jane is true.
Alister: What rumours are they?
Andy: That she'll be in the Doctor Lite episode along with Sally from Blink. They were also trying to get Marc Warren back apparently, but he's busy.
Alister: *splutters drink over next table* That would be so cool.
Andy: Yeah. The idea was that the Companions would be working together to find The Doctor, this would probably be the episode that brings Martha and Jack back in too, so you'd have Jack, Martha, K9, Sally, Sarah Jane all working together with maybe a few others.
Alister: I love you Andy.
Thats pretty much how it went, how cool are we?
I'll ask my friend to give me a link next time I talk to him.

I've read similar rumours over at the UNIT News site but as yet they are unsubstantiated. Still, it adds fuel to the theory that next season's finale will be "the finale to end all finales". I'm liking your Time War theory with regard to that Al. I just hope that RTD leaves something in reserve for the three specials and the season after them and doesn't fulfil all our fanboy dreams :) Unless his cunning plan is that he leaves after the specials and leaves nowhere for the next showrunner to go with it...but he seems too nice a bloke to do that :)
BTW - I also read somewhere (UNIT News again I think) that as well as the return of the Sontarans next season (or possibly the specials) will see the classic series Cybermen coming back. As for Jack, it would make more sense to me to have him and possibly Torchwood in the final eps but would that be too much of a good thing? I hadn't seen anything about Sally, Sarah Jane or K9 that sounded credible but I'll keep my ears to the ground.
BTW pt 2 - Al, have you been watching The Sarah Jane Adventures? Far too good for a kids' show IMO. I was leaping around in my seat and cheering at the appearance of the true hero of the finale...much to Mrs P's disapproval :)

My friend and I are convinced that Steven Moffat is going to take over - he's done amazing things on the show.
The Dalek/Last Doctor/Time Wars story has been RTD's baby, it just makes sense that he concludes it before he leaves.
I've loved The Daleks but they are becoming a bit 'Borg' easier to beat everytime we meet. I think that after this season, we should be Dalekless for a bit.
I also think that Moffat has the ability to create a new season arc.
Look at what he has written. Blink, Girl in the Fireplace, Empty Child and Doctor Dances PLUS he Jekyll and the BBC loved Coupling so they've got so many reasons to allow him to take over.
Yeah, I read in DWM that Steven Moffat loved the Cybermen in the recent series BUT they weren't as menacing as the Cybs of Yore. He wanted to write a story with them.
I've not seen any S-JM's actually. I'm waiting on the DVD's simply because its on kids TV and i'm never in for that - I have heard good things though.

I've read rumours that Steven M is pencilled in to succeed RTD, should he decide to leave...he'd be a great choice IMO.
I'd love to see the classic Cybermen coming back...we know they exist in the new Who continuity - there was a Cyber head in Van Statten's museum...though the parallel ones looked excellent (C3P0's harder brother :)) and seemed nastier than what I remember of the classic guys...hmm...I predict a Clash of the Cybers storyline :)

I hope that they write a decent story that doesn't dumb down her goodbye in "doomsday".
