Alright. The next adaptation I've been waiting for, and can be disappointed in :)
Maybe it'll be cool, if he's got Clarke's blessing and NASA's help.
I think I read this one. It's the one where they explore this gigantic alien spacecraft, right? If it's that one, I found it kind of dry, but interesting, like a PBS special on underwater exploration. But I find all Clarke's stuff like that. Can't remember if I read the one 2001: A Space Odyssey is based on, but I imagine I would have said the same thing about that. I don't find Clarke's stuff terribly cinematic, but I guess I've been proved wrong there at least, even though, I personally thought 2001 was boring (guess I wasn't stoned enough).

Yeah, dry, but interesting I suppose. The one Clarke story that I thought had more potential was Childhood's End. Independence Day already lifted components of that story—like the massive ships hovering over world capitals. But an interesting story.
