So, a pretty good ep, huh? I like all the Ben Edlund-penned ones.

And more skinny on Ruby. We find out that demons are people too. Or, were. I used to think of this show as sort of close to a Judeo-Christian mythology, as far as the demon origin stuff. Guess not. I get why the writers would want to go off and do their own thing though. More character options this way.

Does anyone get the feeling that Ruby was lying her ass off? She is knifing demons left, right and under the chin and she tells Dean that she can't save him from his deal?
And this getting Sam to be more like Dean when it comes to killing I bought it when Sam said it but when Ruby said it I got a creepy feeling that she needs Sam's help to take out the rising demon from the west. Especially when she complimented about how well Dean handled the knife like she was surprised. Please if the Winchester's have such a great reputation in hell then having weapon's skills should not be surprising. She did what any demon does she played to Dean's ego about his fighting skills.
I still have my humanity...pleeassee! She just finishes a gut wrenching description of what hell does to you and she has the nerve to say she still remembers what it's like to still be human after she admits she has been down there for centuries?
Now that is it out of the way...it was a great episode. And I'm with Dean why does the poor fluffy bunny always get the shaft? There was a lot of one liners in this episode. I like the way this story arc is going.

How did you two manage to watch both Lost and this one? Did you do the taping thing? I'm not equipped for that. I wanted to see it, but I was on Lost. Supernatural plays a second time on the weekend here though. I'll watch it then. I also like the Ben Edlund ones best.

Yeah, the wonders of VCR technology. I didn't even know a new Supernatural ep was gonna be on. Popped in a tape at the last sec.

Let's not forget that other alternative...cable/sattelite time shifting. Plus I have a dvd/vcr combo and a vcr. I figure if Panasonic puts all those component inputs on the back of the tv and I still got the gear hell I'm using it!

Probably one of my favorite episodes, this was.

TT, I think Ruby was most likely telling the truth, or at least being partly truthful when she said she wants to help them because she remembers her humanity. And when she was describing what hell does she probably meant for most of the souls. Not every person would be affected the same. But Ruby's most likely not all good, maybe she's conflicted.

This was a nice, gross little story overall. The acting didn't bother me as much as it usually does.

And the possessed woman was Marisa Ramirez, who starred with Skeet Ulrich in the completely underrated and underknown ABC show 'Miracles', which was a really nice treat.

It's just that we hear about the demon rising in the west and Ruby describing hell in the same show and we are supposed to buy into her still having some humanity after centuries in hell? I need another 'example' of her humanity before I believe she has some left. I still think she needs Sam to defeat the new demon and power is her goal.
