No one is posting about this show so I thought I would try to get the ball rolling...
Of all the shows that have come out that got their own forumn here at AD I think this one is by the far the best one of the bunch.
The writing is absolutely brilliant. The cast is outstanding not to mention very cohesive. And the concept is so original it's like a breath of fresh air...you know not a recycled show, idea from another show or a series from a movie franchise.
And Eli's facial expressions really make the scene's IMO especially when it includes a zinger.
The pilot showed promise, and the cast is still good, but nah...no thanks. Not for me. It's kind of like if the guys who made Touched by an Angel tried to make Wonderfalls.
It's very mainstream, formula forced, by the numbers, fantasy. I imagine it gets good ratings, does it?
Maybe it'll be like Ghost Whisperer, and you'll get a good finale.

The ratings aren't that great.
I like the show, though. It doesn't remind me of Ghost Whisperer or Touched By an Angel at all.
I really like this show, and have thoroughly enjoyed the episodes so far. :)
As mentioned, Eli's facial expressions are just excellent, obviously not the only reason for watching it though 'lol'
I'm not an expert critique but I too found it a breath of fresh air, and having got my hubby and mum to watch it too, they both enjoyed it as much as I did. :D
I also like the fact that you're not sure if there are divine reasons for what is happening, or if it is just down to a medical condition - I guess that's down to us to decide.
I like the fact that there are alot of funny moments too. :)

I guess you'd call this a dramedy, right? I'm just wanting the humor to feel a bit darker, more biting, something. But it would be a different show at that point, wouldn't it...
It's well acted.

I've watched a couple of episodes, but it's hard to get into to - especially right after LOST. I'm trying to get into LOST and join that bandwagon late. Last week, after watching two hours of LOST, I just couldn't sit and stare at the TV for a third hour. Basically, I think its time slot is going to do it in. At 10pm with a brain that's all focused on string theory and other LOST-like stuff, I just can't focus on brain tumor guy.

I've never had a problem with watching stuff after "Lost", back in 2005-2006 at one point ABC had a lineup of "Alias", "Lost", and "Invasion" - three serialized dramas with complex mythologies - and I was in heaven. I guess most people can't handle it though, so I'm glad ABC is moving Lost to 10/9c again when it returns with the second half of season four.

I've been watching Eli, and am enjoying it. It's fun and interesting. Likable characters, even the kind of 'jerk' guy at the firm is likeable as the jerk. It strikes, for me, a good mix of thoughtful and serious moments, as well as goofy humor.

Well Mrs TT and I finally got around to watching the season finale. We both found it confusing at first but when it was revealed that the accupuncturist was having the dream we both loved how unique an idea it was. Ofcourse the ending was a collective groan from both of us we were hoping for a little more after he opened his eyes but hey there had to be a cliff hanger of sorts.
IMO if ABC can go forward with a second season of Pushing Daisies (a show I am not very fond of but the Mrs is) and not renew Eli Stone they need to find a proctologist and remove their heads from their arse. This is a refreshing show with solid comedy, drama and most importantly makes one think and look at life from a different point of view. Loved the whole idea of if God does talk/touch you then your crazy but we are supposed to believe He can talk to us. This show would fit nicely into a Tuesday time slot with Boston Legal. I know both shows focus around lawyers but each is unique and would not 'rub' each other.
If and I hope it does not come true the show does get canceled then it was a nice series ending show because he did open his eyes.

I'm hoping this one will be back. Sounds like it's kind of 'up in the air' right now as to the fate of it. I thought it was a lot of fun though, and I'm interested in seeing another season of it. I've been getting more 'particular' about my TV viewing, some shows that I couldn't miss before I've started missing episodes of, because I just am not as into them, and there's other things at the same time to watch. And since I'm notoriously bad at getting around to watching tapes, I can at most do a couple hours of recorded TV a week. More than that and it will just pile up and I'll end up with a stack of unwatched tapes and missed episodes by summertime, and most likely, they'll still be there when the new seasons start. *L* So I tape very little, basically I'll tape CBS' comedies from I think Tuesday. Whatever night is Big Bang and Two and a half Men. *L* I love those ones. And I tape Supernatural even if I end up watching it as it airs, since I take the tape to my friend who doesn't have cable.
And, to get back on topic, *L* Eli Stone is one of those shows I stop to watch, and it would have to be up against something I super loved to miss it. But thus far, it's always been my pick on what to watch at whatever time it's been on.
to be honest i have watched a few shows but found i did not really love it like other shows.. i got bored with it

'Daisies' Staff Not Ready to Say Die
November 11, 2008 9:37 PM
Fear not, "Pushing Daisies" fans: If ABC prematurely pulls the plug on piemaker Ned and his posse of peculiar pals, Bryan Fuller is prepared to resurrect his series from the dead.
"The idea would be to finish out the season's story arcs in comic books" if the on-the-bubble hour isn't picked up, Fuller told a full house at the Paley Center for Media on Tuesday night. He said he hoped his writing staff, most of whom were present for the "Inside the Writers' Room" panel, would be part of the project "to satisfy the fans and ourselves, to finish up the stories we'd love to tell." Warner Bros. Television, which produces the series, is a corporate sibling to DC Comics, which would be the likely publisher, Fuller said. (He also mentioned Wildstorm as a possibility.)
"That would clear the slate for a movie," Fuller added.
"Pushing Daisies" is scheduled to wrap the final episode of its 13-episode order on Thursday, and there's still no word from the network on whether that back-nine order is forthcoming, Fuller said. "It's radio silence," he said. "We ask ABC and they say 'wait and see.'

I heard a lot of good things about season one when it came out but never really watched it (don't ask me why, I just didn't). But I reserved the first season on my Netflix a few weeks ago and actually really enjoyed the show. However, I just haven't been able to get into season two yet (again, don't ask me why).
Also, I've got a kind of OT question about the show: who does the narration? I've heard him doing the Harry Potter DVD stuff but I don't know his name. He's got such an awesome voice, too! Thanks.

Not sure on the name of the narrator right now, but I really like Pushing Daisies. It's quirky and charming, and not like any other show.

I think the narrator's name is Jim Dale. I could be completely wrong though.

I finally went and looked, and yeah, that's is name. He seemed to voice something on I think a Harry Potter video game, or something, but it just looked like one from his IMDB page.

Well he did the narration for all of the audio books, which is where I originally knew him from.

Ah, okay, I don't think that IMDB lists that, I only looked there. He's got a great voice though, so it's no wonder he gets a lot of narration kind of work.
