Just read this in TV Guide, Canada...

While Fox still hasn’t made an announcements regarding its show renewals, one of Ausiello’s many sources has revealed that Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles will be back.

According to the source, Terminator is preparing for production on a second season and that the show’s execs have been told to start booking directors for the first few episodes of next season.

However, Fox has still made no official announcement regarding the show’s future.

Well this is certainly making my day a wee bit brighter!

Wonder if it would be a full, 22 ep season...and if it's for sure this fall. If it were a midseason show, I'd worry about a Jericho-style flame out.

It makes sense they'd want to keep it around—cross promotion for the upcoming film.

Apparently others have been considering that.

Anyway, unless you’re one of those Terminator purists who takes pleasure in nitpicking every minute detail of anything Terminator-related, you’re probably wondering what the age issue has to do with the TV show. Technically, nothing since as I said, the whole age thing has been firmly established on the show. But word is, if The Sarah Connor Chronicles does get a second season, there might be some tie-ins between the new Terminator films and the TV series. If that's the case, at least we know the age difference between Kyle and John won't be an issue.

As for how exactly the new films would connect to the series, we don’t know. But I wouldn’t mind seeing some character crossovers. I’m pretty sure it’s been referenced that Cameron (the terminator in the TV series that’s played by Summer Glau) interacted with future-John. So they might consider working her into the new films somehow. I’ve also been enjoying seeing the story of Kyle’s brother Derek unfold on the series. So maybe we’ll see him in the films.

At this point, I’m just hoping that Fox gives the series another season. And if they don’t, we’ll have to settle for getting closure from the new Terminator films.

Hey, did you ever notice James Cameron (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000116/) wrote some of SCC. I just discovered it myself.

I wouldn't have thought JC had any input, other than as an occasional consultant or something. Does IMDB just mean that he gets credit for creating John and Sarah Connor?

It's official. But only 13 eps?? Or does that leave room for it to expand to 22...

Fox gives 'Terminator' second season

She'll be back.

Fox has picked up "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" for a second season. The network on Monday handed a 13-episode order to the sci-fi drama, an extension of the "Terminator" feature franchise that centers on Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) and her son, John (Thomas Dekker), as they battle enemies from the future with the help of a goodhearted terminator, Cameron (Summer Glau).

"Terminator," from Warner Bros. TV, which launched in January, is the highest-rated new scripted series this season among adults 18-49 with an average of 4.4 rating/10 share. It drew an average of 10.5 million total viewers.

I would guess it means that Fox at least is showing some 'faith' in it. Seeing if when it comes back in fall, if it can pick up and hold onto the viewership and make it worth ordering the 'rest' of the season. Unless they're planning it for like a half season. But I'd bet it's a 'let's see what happens with it' situation. If it does well in the first probably 4 to 5 eps, we'll probably see a 'full' order for 22 eps. And if not, they'll start to consider options if they want to do a marketing press to see if it boosts or if they just decide to air the 13 and call it that. I'd say it sounds promising though, at least they haven't axed it.

I'm personally not into the show, I watched the first couple episodes and just didn't connect to anything in it to keep me interested. Yeah, there's some cool effects and stunts and such, but if a show can't make me care about it's main characters, I'm not going to stick around, and that was the problem I had with the show. I just didn't care about any of them.

We all knew Cameron was gonna be fine, right?

Well yeah. Without Cameron what've they got? I wouldn't watch it.

I actually think Cameron is the weakest part of the show. I like the "character" OK but the more they focus on her the more I'm turned off...I don't like that they try getting me invested in an empty soulless machine. And if they try to do a romance between Cameron and John, I will pray the show gets canceled.

You're an outlier.

Hehe...that was fun. I always wanted to be able to accuse somebody else of that. It's better when it's not me being accused of it. Means outside the norm.

I really liked the show, but I think the whole short season thing has been bad for keeping interest in a lot of shows.

Hmm...I wonder if I write to Garrett if he could get me a PA job on it... :D (Yeah right.)

:D

Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson is venturing into acting in a big way with a regular role next season on Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

On "Sarah Connor," produced by Warner Bros. TV, Scottish musician Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the CEO of a cutting-edge high-tech company.

The sci-fi series, an offshoot from the "Terminator" feature franchise, is returning for a second season in the fall after launching in midseason as the highest-rated new scripted series of the 2007-08 season.

It stars Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as her son John Connor and Summer Glau as terminator Cameron Phillips.

Formed in Madison, Wis., Garbage broke on the national scene in 1995 with its self-titled debut album, which spawned the modern rock hit "Only Happy When It Rains" and has gone double platinum. The quartet, which also includes Nirvana producer Butch Vig on drums, has released three other albums, the most recent in 2005.

It's official: Leven Rambin, who for the past few years has starred on All My Children as both Lily, who has autism, and her wild-child sister, Ava (there's always a look-alike, isn't there?), is joining Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as a series regular.

When Season 2 of the Fox series gets underway, Rambin will play Riley, a new school friend of John's.

Leven, Summer Glau.... John-boy, never mind the future. Your present is some sweet shizzle! Stay put. — Matt Mitovich
