HBO is coming out with a show called Big Love, and it sounds interesting...

PLOT SUMMARY: (From Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.com)):

The series revolves around protagonist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton), his three wives: Barb (his legal wife), Nikki and Margene all of whom he is in a poligamist marriage with, and their extended family of 7 children. The series is set in present-day Utah although being filmed mostly in California.

I think it's supposed to be a comedy. It looks funny. I think the main character is like an ex-Mormon, which is bound to stir up some controversy...but hey, that's what HBO does best. :)

Sounds like a very painful show to watch.

It's supposed to be like Six Feet Under or The Sopranos, compatible I mean. So depending on what you think of those...

I personally haven't seen those, though. So I dunno. I just plan to check out the pilot.

I don't see how something that is in any way like Six Feet Under can also be a comedy, that is probably the most depressing show I've ever seen. Anyways, this sounds extremely disturbing :)

Well I finally got around to watching this. It's pretty good. The cast is good, and they have several recurring actors from "Veronica Mars" - which is a huge plus. It's kind of a light-hearted family drama...it's definitely intriguing...and not that disturbing. At least, the scenes with Paxton and his wives aren't. They make it seem kinda normal. But then you have the cult which shows how polygamy can go wrong.

I think the show has great potential, and Kristen at E! said it gets better and better. I'm looking forward to when the neighborhood finds out his secret, and Bill's daughter associating with the Mormon chick whose dad is a state trooper (which could spell trouble if the girl tells her father that her friend is in a polygamist family).

Also, it's really weird watching this show knowing it's on HBO, because it's so...CLEAN, compared to their other shows. One curse word in an hour. You DO see an extremely disgusting shot of Bill Paxton's butt but other than that this show could be airing on network TV.

Unfortunately for me, I can't find any message boards where people actually discuss the show...they just argue about what Mormons believe and don't believe, which doesn't make much sense because the characters aren't Mormon. Ah well.
