The Next Companion?

Does anybody have any scoop on who the new companion is going to be.

I heard about this Rosita girl in the upcoming Christmas special. Will she stick, or will it be somebody else after that? It's the 5 episode season coming up, right? So maybe a collection of companions. I haven't given up on Sally Sparrow, the Doctor's daughter, or even the return of Romana, and K 9. Should I? Did somebody sign a contract.

I'd love it to be Sally - I thought she was fab in Blink & I think she would make a really good companion, but then I'd also like to see the Doctor's daughter as well.

I don't think anyone has signed up yet but then I haven't exactly gone looking for information...

I haven't heard anything but then again (just like edb) I haven't been looking for it. I'm confident that Russell will give us a fitting farewell with the specials next year and leave things nice and tidy for (triple Hugo winner btw :jawdrop:) Steven when he takes over. I think that I'd kinda like the specials to be The Doctor on his own or with a temporary (not another temp though :)) companion a la Astrid in each story. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Sally or Jenny again though.
