View Full Version : I Bought Season 1!
Since I can't watch Being Human, and I feel like I'm on pins and needles waiting for Fringe, Harper's Island and the Lost threads to pop up while watching all the other episode discussions scroll off the page, I decided to cave and go get Supernatural.
I just feel like I don't talk to you guys ENOUGH!
So, wish me luck! Maybe if I hurry I can catch up with Dru and we can do Super Secret Supernatural Viewings!

Cool, congrats :)
I remember really digging the 1st ep. The first season's pretty good. More stand-alone eps as I recall.

Well done, Lou. Let the addiction commence. :p
You're about to view a top-class TV show. The series starts with a bang and gets progressively better with each season.
Enjoy! :D

And if you wanna do synchronized viewings, let me know. I've been meaning to watch the series again, anyway. :D
Good choice on a series to catch up on, I think. Then by the time you're all collected up there, season one of Fringe should be out.
Isn't Drusilla Rox doing a Season 1 catch-up as well?
Well, here's a troubling thing. I've seen clips and banners and things of Supernatural, but most of them have to do with Dean, who I know from Days Of Our Lives many many moons ago.
I never really paid any attention or had reason to look much at Sam. Not a lot of banner about him OR maybe I just didn't recognize which show he was from.
Either way, he bears a more than creepy resemblance to an ex of mine. Who oddly was haunted for a long time with this long complex story of his Mother's death that he'd been told. Even MORE weird, while we were dating he learned his Mother wasn't even dead and we had to go on this road trip to go visit his undead mother and get some sort of explanation.
For one thing, it's got me wondering if Sam's Mom is really dead and kinda has me wanting to scream, "Quit looking for your Dad, let's go find your Mom instead" and the other part just has me staring at the screen thinking, "Man, could he look any MORE like Eric?" Acts like him too now that he's all dark and broody. (I think I'm only 3 eps in, but he seems to be getting darker and broodier <------Broodier is a word I made 'specially for BlondieBear trying to drive her nuts)
This part, I wasn't expecting. I'm hoping to get over it soon so I can concentrate more on the stories.

Guess what? Your evil plan has been foiled. BROODIER IS A WORD! MWAHAHAHA!
Ahem.
As you were.
Okay, so I was foiled. I'll try better next time.
Anyway, sometime real soon I'm gonna happen upon a nice fluffy 90% laughs and 10% scare the pee out of you episode, right?
I know I probably shouldn't be watching on cold medicine, but I usually fall asleep to X-Files, Forensic Files, Cold Case....lots of nasty stuff, but the Fear of Flying and Bloody Mary has me kinda itching for a nice episode where they turn into puppets. When does that happen?

The first 2 seasons were okay. S3 is, IMHO, where it really picks up and gets awesome. And then 4 has kicked ass so far (except for that one minor slump after Christmas).
Hmmmm....that way of dancing around my question isn't the most comforting thing.

Sorry, no puppets.

Lou agrees: but there are SOME funnier ones? Maybe?
There are awesomely hilarious episodes. I promise.

There's always one or two truly laugh your ass off episodes in each season. I think season one, it does come later in the season. But there are a few really funny ones mixed into the strange and creepy ghost and demon stuff. *L*

I'm reading that Season 1 ep 17, "Hell House" is the first real comedy episode. Never saw that one.

Oh....wait. OK. This one:

Yeah, that was the one for season one. It was a good one, and each season has one or two episodes that are really pretty comedic.
YEA! Now I just have to hurry and get through these, and resist the urge to jump ahead.

I mean, I think the other eps are great. The funny ones are funny. And there's often a little humor sprinkled into most episodes. But if season 1 is already too much 'dark' and not enough 'funny' for you. I'm not sure if you'll want to bother continuing with the show. Because season 1 is the 'lightest' of them all. It just gets darker and more intensive from here.
Well, one thing is for sure, I need to STOP watching it at 3 am while I can't sleep. That isn't working one bit. But, thanks for the warning.

Lou, If you wanna watch SN, I am SO in
Also, people talking about me when i'm not here. Wow. Now I KNOW I'm obsessed
It's just such an INTENSE show. It's not the "scary" or the "gore" it's like I feel like I'm holding my breath from 2 minutes in until two minutes before the credits.
But, it's also not a "watch while you work" show because you have to actually LOOK at it, not just listen. Which is why it's getting shoved into the late night hours when I actually have time to sit, sketch and watch TV in peace and quiet. But, then, it's not really RELAXING more of blood pressure raising. I'm starting to get scared it will have to be a 9 am show and I'll just have to sketch in the morning and paint later into the night. Or maybe I should watch the soaps at night and SN during soap time. Lord knows the soaps put me RIGHT to sleep.
Then there is the fact that I can't watch it with the kids down here. The little one keeps saying, "I can watch it Momma! I'm not scared! Not scared of Angel, not scared of Buffy. I'm big!" Of course, I don't have the heart to tell her that she hasn't REALLY seen all of Buffy and that it's NOTHING like Buffy.
In fact, Drubie, you and Momma Lou may have to have a little discussion as to whether YOU can continue to watch it! What about your blood pressure? ;)

Lou, It IS intense. But that's what's so great. I love having a show that keeps you right in the middle of crying and laughing
Oh, and don't let your little ones watch it. Season 1 is fairly tame, but season 2 is intense. It's on at 10:30 here!

Yeah, I have two cousins who are 8 and 11. I house/pet sat for them a few times, so I'd be alone there for a week or something while them and their parents were off somewhere for vacation. So I'd bring over Supernatural with me and some other shows to watch and enjoy. But once they're back, I turn off the Supernatural. It's really pretty intense. But a very engrossing show. Definitely not for the young ones. I don't know if it was the years of watching X-Files, but I can watch Supernatural anytime, anywhere, fall alseep to it, and it's not a problem for me. *L*

I know what you mean. I grew up with Buffy The Vampire slayer. So the demon stuff really doesn't phase me
I know what you mean. I grew up with Buffy The Vampire slayer. So the demon stuff really doesn't phase me
Well, me too, but geez, there's Buffy demons and then there are Supernatural demons!
Actually, I may be becoming immune. The few I watched this weekend I didn't freak out on. Starting with Scarecrow, that I had put off BECAUSE I kinda have a natural fear of scarecrows from early childhood.
And, even though it was darn close to my fears, it didn't bug me.
Then the next one didn't.
And the next one, that was a little "icky" but I didn't hold my breath.
AND I watched them at night. The only difference was, I had gotten some exercise beforehand and then eaten, so I guess it was more calming then while digesting food and I was already tired. Or, maybe I'm just getting more used to it. Hard to say.

I started over yet again because I hadn't realized that Mr. Bear hasn't seen S1. So we're on "Wendigo" right now. Literally. Now. It's playing.

We stopped on "Skin" tonight. :)

Ooh, Skin is awsome. One of my faves, although Dean's double has some of the worst pick up lines ever *shudders*
Velvet Sky

Skin and Benders are both awesome and creepy eps. :) *L* And my friends who I got into Supernatural, turned their exchange student onto it last year. He was a 16 year old boy from France, and he liked them, but apparently it did freak him out. He apparently work them up one night cause he had a nightmare about a Wendigo. *L*
DrusillaRox
04-21-2009, 08:26 PM
No way?! A nightmare?
In the first supernatural dream I had, Cassie went missing. And Dean & Sam had to go find her
Luckily, no dreams OR nightmares yet. I guess my brain has enough to process without adding in SN.
I'll scroll to the ep discussions after I sleep some, but I'm not on crack right? That gun isn't the same from the vampire episode to the end ones, right? I didn't feel like getting up and changing the disks either. I figured it would be quicker just to ask.
And I gotta add, I spent the last three episodes in awe and wonder at how much John and Dean REALLY look like they're father and son. It's super creepy. Maybe creepier than the rest of the show!
DrusillaRox
04-25-2009, 06:38 AM
LOL! That's your creepy thing? Wow. Really? So, you cried yet?
Nope, I haven't cried at all. But, I have noticed a pattern to what lingers of my normal episode creepiness. There are SO many kids. I hate seeing things happen to children. Or violent things involving children even if they're doing it. And it seems to be a running theme. I'm hoping I'll drift over that the longer I watch.
But John and Dean have the same nose and face structure and eye shape and brow shape. It was REALLY creepy....and a little story line distracting.

Season 2 is the bomb diggidy, yo.
DrusillaRox
05-03-2009, 07:31 PM
Only two eps left to watch and I have to say, S2 is less "freaky" and more fun than the first. I'm pleased.
I just watched the last two with my mum! She got into Supernatural way more in the second season. she spent all of yesterday in her room watching it!
I'm getting season 3 today. Am very excited
One of my fave episodes is BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK, that had me in stitches, very very amusing, that was in sason 3 and in season 4 I enjoyed YELLOW FEVER, but there are a few I have found creepy, namely the bloody mary story when you catch glimpses of something in the mirror, oooh, cold shiver!!!
