I live here in the U.S. and I've only seen the first two episodes of the show. I was wondering if there's an extensive site about it or if someone could kindly explain what happens, since I just saw the first two. I definitely liked them though and I'm hoping I'll catch up. I heard Cassie dies in sesason two...is that true? BTW, I personally don't mind spoilers - it won't lessen my enjoyment when I get hold of the episodes.

I've been posting recaps of the Season Two Episodes which you can find in their discussion threads - you can also find recaps at the official site: http://www.skyone.co.uk/programme/pgeProgramme.aspx?pid=5

NP - after I posted that I actually posted all the recaps from the first season as well, and aggregated the second season into an 'Episode Guide' of sorts.
Allycat and I are working on transcribing the episodes as well. (Well, he's done most of the work so far!)

Sweet. When you do them I suggest contacting the owner of www.twiztv.com to get them hosted on there...you'll get credit, of course.

Why not host them here, it'd be a great way to lure in some Hex fans ;)

Yeah there's really no reason for me not to put them up here.

Well I meant host them here AND there. That site just links to wherever they are. It would get more attention AND get more people to visit.

Ah I see what you mean :)

OK, I just finished watching the entire first season, and I still don't know what to think. It was good...it reminded me a LOT of Point Pleasant. Some instances were genuinely frightening. However, the soap element was even more dominant than Point Pleasant had in its first few episodes, and we rarely saw anything to remind us that Cassie is a witch. And it bugs me that Thelma supposedly can't touch people yet she touches things. And she buys things from vending machines. And she eats. She talks on a cell phone! Too who?!?! She's dead! Anyway, I also think the lesbian element was played WAAY to much, sometimes it felt like the show was more worried with discussing the sexuality of Thelma and Cassie's supposed hidden feelings more so than it cared about the story of Cassie and the fallen angels and such. But at least Cassie is really hot.
Oh, and I personally found that I didn't much care for the characters. They all have more faults and weaknesses than anything and had hardly any saving graces. At first Cassie is portrayed as being a pathetic loser who wants to be popular, and then she gets a little better, and then she's possessed and turns into a sexy but evil b*tch. Thelma is funny but I wasn't sad when she was murdered, and she can occasionally get annoying. Troy's just a horny teenage boy but sometimes he seems more relatable than Cassie or Thelma. Azazeal(sp) is an interesting villain but lacks something.
Despite all the faults than I find, however, it was an enjoyable five episodes and if I can get them I'm starting on season two next week. It's a good plot, and when it's not worried about the superficial things it has a nice gothic feel to it. I'm surprised they haven't tried to sell this to the American audience yet. I can imagine FOX making a version of this.

Yea, I was bugged about the Thelma as a ghost who can't interact with people but can with the rest of the world...but besides that (and the totally unrealistic school that they're at) I'm sticking with the show because it seems to have something that makes me want to find out what happens...Season two is shaping up quite nicely and I'll stop here for fear of spoiling it for you...

Yeah, I like the school even though it seems unrealistic. And it doesn't seem like there are nearly enough places to stick ALL those students AND classrooms. And then half the places we see are always deserted. But whatever.

Like Prydain here, I don't know what to make of the show. It was a little too slow-paced the first three eps. Although to be fair, I didn't really watch the entire first season as I am here in the U.S.
I gave up watching it after the episode where Azazeal murders Thelma, because I had to "acquire" these episodes...and I have dial-up....so I lost patience and gave up. Lol. (Put the baseball bat down, Vilandra...I never said "downloaded"............................"D'OH!!!!!") :p
A question, though....why are U.K. television show's seasons so short? And who got Cassie pregnant?
(ok, that was two questions, sue me)

The UK stations just don't have enough money to have both long seasons and good effects and all that jazz. And if you mean when Cassie has the demon babies, it was Azazeal (sp?). Cassie is a little ho. :D

LOL...that's not right. :p Thanks for answering though. I always wondered about those abbreviated seasons. That whole thing with Azazeal morphing into his true appearance after killing Thelma must have blown three-quarters of the show's budget for that season, I reckon. Lol.

lol! yeah becauuse they dont do it very often and instead just have cheap shots of thelma's fat a in her underwear *gag* and showing naked guys as low as they can without showing pubes *gag*. They should've borrowed money and just showed more demonic morphing. lol

Oh I dunno, I think Thelma's attractive. But to each their own, I suppose. Lol.
As for the money issues for these shows, it's ridiculous. I don't know how any of that business works so pardon me for coming off as a bit naive, but I would think that if you're gonna put out a series, especially one that requires a certain amount of special effects to aid in the story's progression, I'd shore up some major backing before even starting anything. The whole idea is to gain ratings and advert revenue, and if you're going to go in half assed and forced to work on the cheap, then what's the point of even having a show? Your original vision cannot be realized, the all-around quality of the show suffers, the viewership drops. That's shooting yourself in the foot. I dunno....show biz is messed up......

I am a little confused as to why people think the school is unrealistic, the scholl looks huge! and the rooms we see are private bedrooms, but I would say there are only a few of them, not everyone has a private room.
And the special effect in season 1 were pretty bad, but they have seriously improved in season 2, that demon that kills that guy in the first ep was amazing, I think it looked cooler then some of the monster I seen in Buffy. And that effect were Azazeal makes the Hexagram dissapear that was cool aswell.

I could buy the school idea if we saw a few 12, 13, 14 and 15 year-olds running around...then it would just be a large, fairly liberal public (NB. Americans - in England, public school means private - don't ask! I have no idea why...) school. But given that most of the students are 17 or 18 going on 25 (!) and I've never heard of a private sixth-form only school (although they could exist)...it just feels unrealistic in my experience of the Brit education system, which, admittedly was a long time ago :) It doesn't spoil my enjoyment of the show; I just accept it as part of the show's 'verse and move on...:)

I live in Ireland and we have schools for the last two years of your school life. In the Irish system you have primary school which is 1st class, 2nd class 3rd class etc then after 6th class you move school and you go into secondary school which goes from 1st year, 2nd year etc, up to 6th year, But there are some schools where you can go to take 5th year and 6th year, because they are the most important years.

I love how they made Thelma interact with objects and people (albeit limited). It puts a nice twist to it; it's a fresh way of approaching the concept of a ghost.
And OMG BEG, I just recognised the face in ur banner... I always thought that was just some random water effect... but this is beyond cool!

Thanks AC, lol.
I agree with you I like how they played Thelma as a ghost, It would have been very boring if she could do nothing, But they have put a very unique spin on it, and I think it works.

What I meant when I was complaining about the ghost thing is - they say there are some things she can't touch and interact with but other times she's just like she's corporeal, except people can't see her. And...ghosts do not need goggles. (reference to episode 4) That REALLY bugged me for some reason when I was watching the scene but I'm over it, lol.

I loved the first season. Not everything has to have big expensive effects to work (the people who made Birds of Prey should have realized that lol).
I think the fact that Cassie wanted to be popular etc shows that she's real.
QC - (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't think the UK has commercials in the same way we do - so they probably don't make the same kind of money off of it. It's not that simple (especially there) to get funding.

Yeah but she was extremely desperate and it didn't make her a very likable person. I pitied her, but I didn't LIKE her because of it. But you're right, it did add realism to the show.
