Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) decide to start hunting together again and their first case leads them to a small town whose inhabitants are being killed by famous dead icons like Abraham Lincoln and James Dean's car.
However, after two teenage girls come forward and claim their friend was kidnapped by Paris Hilton (in a cameo role as herself), the brothers aren't sure what they are hunting anymore.
Jim Conway directed the episode written by Julie Siege.

LOL Paris Hilton kicked Dean's ass!
A comedic episode that was going great until Sam had to pack the bags because Dean was going on a guilt trip! I have to admit I was really miffed that Dean was going down that road again but at the end of the episode when Dean admitted he was just as much to blame by opening the first seal I was sooo happy! No more of this guilt crap!
Now that each of them has admitted that they did not know their actions broke seals and have realized that forgiving each other is stupid because as Sam said "who knew killing Lillith was going to be a bad thing?" Fold the issue up, wrap it, but a bow on it and put it at the back of the closet and forget about it.
I'm real curious where this "we have to be equals going forward" is going? And Sam telling Dean he has to let him grow up? This is going to be real interesting. This is character development I never thought of for either of them. And how casual is Dean about Sam being Lucifers vessel? Then again if Dean gets wrapped up in Sam being the vessel then he would have to address and think about his own situation. You are right Vil it's weird Dean is showing zero emotion over being Michael's vessel.
Oh in case you all think I forgot...3rd episode they talked about the colt. There had better be an episode about getting it back. An appearence by Bella (in a flashback ofcourse) would be cool. Although they never did show Bella being eaten by the hellhounds did they? And she is a girl that was known to make deals...
If they ever give out a "Most clever use of Paris Hilton" award this ep should get it.
And hey, let's give the devil her due. She wasn't half bad. I forgot it was her. I got right into thinking of her as some sort of demon forest God, choosing to look like Paris Hilton.
And speaking of awards...for the most chuckleworthy line award, I nominate, "Haha. You just got your ass kicked by Paris Hilton".

Plotwise, I thought this ep was sort of "eh." I think it relied WAY too much on the shock value of their famous person and famous look-alikes and kind of dropped the ball on depth. But I like that the boys have mostly reconciled and Dean's getting down off his high horse.

I'm officially tired of all the Sam/Dean family dysfunction stuff. I want more scary and more demon ass kicking. But yeah, Paris was actually good.

I thought it was 'eh' too.. but, and I HATE myself for saying this, many without Cass are 'eh'
Hilton was good though, and I think the writers did wonderful job fitting her in so as not to seem out of place. I just an never fond of 'standalone' eps.
I thought the little Ghandi guy was funny too.. I was LOL'ing and him running under Sams legs.. lol still am LOL'ing

When she said 'awesome' just before the commercial break I thought "make her death quick" because I will loose it if she acts like she normally does.
But I agree with you, N4H, I totally forgot it was Paris Hilton. And even better she mocked herself as to 'why' are people admiring this? Brilliant writing and I can't believe I'm saying this but good acting by Hilton.

The other thing I have to give Paris credit for - being a good sport about the mocking of herself and people like her. And I never thought I would ever give her credit for anything lol

I actually have to agree. She wasn't that bad. But the BEST line was "I haven't even seen House of Wax." and the cut to Jared's look. LMAO

I agree. The "big bad" part of the storyline wasn't that great. But some things happened that made it worthwhile. Like teentitan said, I was glad Dean finally admitted that Sam didn't know what would happen when he killed Lilith. I was actually yelling that at the tv half way through the episode lol

I actually was a week behind on my tape and watched eps 4 & 5 back to back. Very different episodes but good stuff. The 'monster' of this ep was a little weak, but amusing. Paris was entertaining. And I liked that Dean finally, as someone else put it, got off his high horse and even mentioned the whole he broke the first seal thing. There's plenty of blame to go around, and Sam's approach that they need to change how things are, has merit.

Not much to add. Good acting from Paris Hilton (le shock!), I never got the impression it was her trying to be some forest god but her being that forest god, and while the storyline was kind of 'meh' I liked the little things that made the episode not entirely skippable when rewatching the series, like the boys finally putting stuff behind them.
And I just got the House of Wax joke - cut to Sam when reading Vil's comment. Im a little sad that they only make the references to Jared's work though (I loved the looooooong pan on Sam's hilarious expression in the Hollywood episode when they mentioned Gilmore Girls) - I'd really love a mention of Dark Angel.
